    What if it’s Morel with his hand that’s been bothering him? Would make it even more odd then that Wisdom didn’t get the call, I guess. I agree though that it’s probably Suzuki.

    Boog is fine. Pat is a little dry, but he’s pleasant. I just wish Boog wouldn’t flirt with Taylor as obnoxiously as he does. Wish that guy had just given Tauchman the double and saved himself from that injury. Tauchman just keeps giving nothing but good ABs.

    He kind of already did. It was just a 3 run game when he brought him in. Hell yeah, Michael Busch.

    Hell yeah, getting ahead of hitters, throwing strikes, locating the fastball, good velo. Looking like vintage Keegan. Hope it's for real. Already an upgrade over Cuas though.

    94 mph from Keegan. That's a good sign.

    Well, there's still a lot there to like. If anything this year, he's shown he's got more potential. He's getting more whiffs, and he's doing it uncharacteristically with his fastball. It's almost like he's getting Steele-ish success with that pitch, and his slider this year has also seen an uptick in stuff. His best pitch last year was his changeup, which so far this year hasn't been super effective. If he can find the changeup he had from last year with everything else going for him he could be a legit #3.

    He's been playing with fire all game. Getting behind too many of these hitters. And Counsel hasn't been quick to go to the pen because it's been overused and horsefeathers the last series.

    Morel still shaking that hand in that AB after his injury last game. Not sure he needs to be playing every day while that's bothering him.

    Keegan Thompson is like the Jason Heyward of pitchers though (well, with less long term success before everything fell apart). He's been constantly trying to find himself and his mechanics and his release point. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's putting less on it to try to gain control after all his command issues.

    Whew, always uncomfortable when the ball is hit to Morel, but he handled that well. Looked for the easier out at second and made a good throw to first.

    95 from Wicks there in the Urias AB, well, before he hit him with the bases loaded.

    One other thing to point out, while Keegan doesn’t have the biggest track record, and the wheels have completely fallen off at this point; he was also someone that tended to gain velo as the season progressed (or at least he did in his previous more successful MLB stints). It’s not really unusual to see his velo where it is at this point in the season at least (it’s not great, but it’s not surprising). A resurgent Keegan Thompson would definitely go a long way to fixing our bullpen issues. It looks like he’s throwing strikes again. So at least there’s that, and that was his biggest issue last year (his stuff also wasn’t as good to be fair). Really hoping things go well for him tho. I remember when there was a great deal of debate between Steele and Thompson on who had the most potential. Steele ended up putting himself into the Cy Young conversation, but if we could get that type of arm back to bolster our shaky pen right now, it would be huge.

    This is purely observational, and I haven't looked at the numbers to see if it’s backed up, but I feel like Kyle’s biggest issue right now is that he isn’t throwing his curveball for a strike. If he could, it would start forcing hitters to adjust their eye level, and he’ll have more success sneaking a fastball at the top of the zone, which in turn makes his change up more effective.
