  1. No, I'm sorry. Yes, he also has swing decision problems, but his hit tool is very much a major problem on top of that. He only has a projected hit tool of 35 by fangraphs with hopefully a 40 grade at his peak. He had 48.5% zone contact rate last year in his MLB plate appearances... He's sitting at 50% in his 4 ABs so far this year. That's absolutely atrocious. Even someone like Patrick Wisdom is at 73% for making contact for balls in the strike zone. He's still a prospect, and maybe he figures things out, but if you're not majorly concerned with his contact rate, you should be. I couldn't pull up his AAA numbers to see how they compare, but small sample size it's not great so far. The only reason PCA is up right now is because his floor is so high based on gold glove defense. His offensive profile has been a mess. Bringing him up and throwing him into the fire like this is a bit of a disservice to him, but we're trying to win games, and we don't really have much CF depth. Crazier things have happened before, and maybe things do just click for him, and again, I'd be so happy for him if it did, but he's probably going to take kidney shot after kidney shot here for a while.
  2. He had ABs last year, and he’s had AAA ABs that haven’t been much better either where he’s hitting .200 with a 30% k-rate. I couldn’t be happier for him on hitting a homer, but the dude has a more questionable hit tool than even Wisdom. I really hope he figures things out, because a good PCA helps the team long term, but MLB isn’t usually the place where people make that adjustment.
  3. And I couldn’t be happier. His 66% k rate is still a bit high.
  4. Would much rather Tachman play CF and Wisdom play RF than give Pete Crow ABs when he was hitting the Mendoza line in AAA
  5. This wasn’t really a competitive lineup with all these guys in there at once.
  6. PCA and Madrigal in the same lineup. Camaro is already kind of questionable too. Oof. Really hope Assad is dealing because chances are he’s not getting much help from the offense…
  7. Finally watching the game because of the local blackout. So nice Taillon has come back from the IL and been so dependable. Small sample size, but Mervis looks just as over matched as he did last year. I don’t know how much longer he can keep getting ABs. Busch’s K rate is also starting to get concerning.
  8. Well, the Mervis call up at the cost of Cooper getting DFA'ed means they must really like what he's been doing in the minors. Hope it's the start of a good big league career.
  9. Dude had a guy on 3rd and 2nd and he’s swinging out of his shoes… just horsefeathers put the ball in play.
  10. Leiter probably needs to be moved into the closer role, and Adbert moved to the 8th until he figures horsefeathers out.
  11. 2 - 0 lead, and Luzardo already up to 70 pitches in 3 innings. So good so far.
  12. Ended up working out to their benefit tho. They got the runners to 3rd and 2nd.
  13. This didn’t age well. He just missed the dinger, but a triple will play.
  14. It might not be a bad idea to go with a 6th man rotation, Shota still isn’t use to going every 5th day, and Hendericks has been broken.
  15. Good first inning from our boys coming back from the IL. Wisdom with a walk, and Taillon with a clean first and a low pitch count. its so weird seeing Wisdom hit second and play RF 😂. It worked though in the first.
  16. They were trying to keep him and Brown stretched out in case there were any injuries (given the injuries to Steele, Taillon, and Hendericks just being trash so far), it’s probably for the best. Now that we signed Teheran, they must feel like they have still enough starting depth in the minors to make a move. Wesneski definitely feels like a big upgrade from Palencia..
  17. Ahahahah Ian Happ, you dirty dog right handed granny.
  18. About time, this dude has been throwing meatballs all game. Glad we cashed in,
  19. Really wish we had Wisdom against this guy. Seems to be the type he’d feast on.
  20. Can we change the post and article to Keegan is brokenly overpowered? 😄 Velo up to 95 tonight. Numbers don’t always tell the whole story.
  21. Keegan Thompson is a horsefeathers beast. horsefeathers you Cuas.
