I was worried it was PTBNL. Dude needs a break.
  2. JHBulls
Aroldis did put us over the top after that worrying 5-15 run.
  3. JHBulls
If they don’t get him and still want a Ryan on their team, they can have Ryan Pressly for free.
  4. JHBulls
Happy-ish with Castro the player, the upgrade over someone like Berti is big.
  5. JHBulls
I miss the days when Theo Epstein grabbed Aroldis Chapman at the deadline and the Cubs steamrolled the NL to win the World Series.

Was going to say it’s surprising the Padres at 60-49 are trading a pitcher of Dylan Cease’ calibre. And then I looked it up and Dylan has sucked this year.

I can’t even crack a smile at the prospects of it, because first I need to know if his under-the-hood, over-the-bonnet, inside-the-chassis, above-the-barrel underlying numbers are fine. It would also be good to know if his 2025 FIP is better than his 2019 FIP and if his 2025 ERA+ is better than his college ERA+. Only then can I smile at a potential trade for Merrill Kelly.

Surely I am not the only person who googled Rojas Flores?

Now go and finish up by getting that controllable starter we want and perhaps a position player to replace the innings eating Jon Berti. And then I will be satisfied.

After 700+ hours of watching Cubs baseball every year, whatever helps. Heck, this is me if I’ve been watching a game for 3 hours and the closer blows a save
  11. JHBulls
So frustrating not to score more runs.

Post was edited too late lol.

    Hell yeah, Ballesteros! 5-1.
  14. JHBulls
So we are down to two worthless bench bats. Jed, do Turner and Berti next!
  15. JHBulls
Hopefully this is Tom Ricketts and Jed Hoyer has only just understood and about to go on a spending spree:
  16. JHBulls
Yep, I’d love that. Give the prospect a chance.
  17. JHBulls
Not sure if it’s been answered yet, he hit the baseball right onto his leg and exited the game.
  18. JHBulls
Oh no, we might not be able to trade Ian Happ now. 😞
  19. JHBulls
Jed Hoyer sitting in his office watching this…
  20. JHBulls
No. First we’ve got to see if 4th, 3rd, 2nd, starter or opener are more his style.
  21. JHBulls
Happy to hear how special Kyle Tucker is as a hitter. This team needs those special hitters. And now that Jed has been extended, it has pretty much assured us that Kyle Tucker will be on a different team next year.
  22. JHBulls
Ryan Pressly will either become an occasional opener or starting pitcher. He’s been worthless in every other inning he’s been tried in.
  23. JHBulls
Ian, you’ve had your breather… now do something.
  24. JHBulls
The best thing that happened to the Chicago Cubs supporters. The 2016 World Series. The worst thing that has happened to Chicago Cubs supporters wanting a legitimate contender moving forward. The 2016 World Series. The Rickets family are satisfied they’ve given the supporters what they wanted. Now they can be cheap and smaller market than the Brewers.
