    Hopefully can get back on track today. Mets are 2-5 lately, so they’ve sucked it up. Even had their very own blow out defeat, 0-10 against the Dodgers.

    With how little peripheral vision baseball outfielders and infielders seem to have, the alternative would have been for Swanson and Happ to crash into each other and each be on the IL for months. I’ll take the L.

    Thank you ESPN announcer for letting us know the Theo Epstein interview was from a few days ago, not a few minutes ago. Because speaking to Theo before tonight’s game and then having him wait around for 2 and a half hours to speak to him again would have been weird. 🙄

    I wouldn’t ever want to do a Q type trade again, but if the Cubs must do one in the future, I would hope it doesn’t do much to turn the other team into a contender. Cease is in San Diego now and Jimenez is playing on a 5-22 team.

    Just saw the condensed game on MLB.TV. It was a solid decision to turn the TV off in the 4th inning and get some sleep.

    Downside is lots of hard hits off Brown. Upside is it’s still a 2-0 ball game. Hopefully Ben settles down and has a clean third.
