    They might be saying the same thing about Assad. On another note, the Brewers win again.

    This is the mediocre, 6th starter, swingman, 4-A level Javier Assad that I have been waiting for all season, and like clockwork, the hype equals my hope. Yuck.

    I keep telling myself that they are using all of their baseball mojo in August and will somehow deplete that supply in September. I look at that roster with squinted eyes and I am relegated to simply tipping my cap. This streak that they are on is nothing short of amazing, especially when I see their nightly box score. Not a fan, just flabbergasted.

    Are we at a place in time where we can start casting some shade on Counsell? The Brewers have been better without him; and in fairness, we seem incredibly flat and defeated with him.

    I have to wonder if Pressly is thinking about / worried about getting "Flexen"ed. Is it possible that Pressly is being considered for a DFA or a throw-in on a trade?

    Do the Brewers have any pitchers that throw under 95 mph? Asking this question as images of Chris Flexen flash in my mind.

    Why am I remembering Hodge with more velo? At this point, he's a taller version of Ethan Roberts. To Iowa he goes!

    On the bright side, there can be no doubt that we are in need of pitching. Seeing Taillon pitch like an ace (which he is not) could have hindered management from pulling the trigger. What Brown and Taillon have done has only intensified the need and search. Bring on our ace, because, sadly, we do not have one.

    I think that your wish will be granted. The look on his face as he exited the mound suggested that he knew a demotion was imminent.

    Shota averaging 89.1 mph on his fastball today seems a bit worrisome. Perhaps the two homers yielded during his start can be attributed to his velo decline.

    Ryan Brasier a Cub? This seems to only solidify the Bregman talk.

    Is it possible that Nico would be staying put, and Suzuki would be the one shipped out? Suzuki has already stated his DH displeasure, his salary is higher, and Shaw could then play DH and learn the infield positions slowly. Basically, we would swap Seiya for Bregman.

    I know his arm is not ideal, but is there a world where Gleyber Torres can come in on a one-year, prove-it contract and reestablish his value as our third baseman? Just asking for a friend, of course.

    Rob, you can certainly believe what you want, and I know you will. That's great. In fact, isn't that what our country encourages us to do? We exist together with our differing beliefs and attempt to respect each other, despite our differing views. We sit on opposite sides politically, and I am certainly not going to try and change you. That old saying truly applies... "you do you". I'm here for baseball talk; not politics, and the only reason that I responded as I did earlier is because I thought that your comment was a harsh blanket statement cast on the right-wingers. I'm not upset, It seems that you are, and I really wish you were not. In fact, I have many friends that are liberals and we are still great friends. We talk sports, not Biden, not Trump, not political issues. It works really well. We don't have to be friends, but I hope we can be fellow Cubs fans.
