  1. Alex Palou has been issued a post-race penalty after IndyCar Officiating found an “unintentional” modification to the height of the front wing, per Bob Pockrass. Palou’s team will be fined $10,000 and 5 points. No other post-race inspection news at this time.
  2. FELIX ROSENQVIST BEATS DAVID MALUKAS IN A PHOTO FINISH TO WIN THE 110TH RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLIS 500! (Pending inspection) It is the closest finish in Indy 500 history with a margin of 0.018 seconds!
  3. Schumacher hits the wall in turn 2 and we are going to have a 1 lap shootout to decide the 110th Indy 500!
  4. Red flag has been lifted. Shootout coming soon.
  5. WE HAVE A RED FLAG WITH 8 TO GO! Caio Collet crashed on the backstretch and the car caught on fire. This just changed everything.
  6. O’Ward and Rosenqvist are up front and in the midst of a fuel saving battle that could end up being for the win.
  7. Apologies for not posting earlier, but we have been green for a while, and pit stops are happening as 3/4ths of this race has been completed. As of Lap 150: Simpson, Rosenqvist, O’Ward, Armstrong and Schumacher make up the top 5. It’s coming down to the wire folks
  8. Newgarden gets too far down on the apron during the restart and spins, hitting the turn 4 wall hard. Caution is out again.
  9. And yellow flag brought out again for rain in one of the turns. It might be like this for a while, folks. Malukas has the lead.
  10. Back to green at the speedway!
  11. Red flag has been brought out due to rain.
  12. Halfway through the race. As of Lap 100: Dixon leads; Palou, Malukas, Newgarden, and McLaughlin make up the rest of the top 5 as we prepare to go green again
  13. And now Rossi has smoke coming out of the rear and will be out of the race. Heck of a performance by him this race.
  14. Will Power blows out either a gearbox or motor, bringing out the 3rd caution of the day.
  15. 1/4th of the way through the race. As of Lap 50: Palou, Daly, Malukas, McLaughlin, and Newgarden make up the top 5.
  16. Just as we get going green again, Ed Carpenter hits the outside wall in Turn 1 for the 2nd caution of the day. Grosjean is the leader.
  17. Ryan Hunter-Reay and Katherine Legge get into trouble entering the backstretch in Lap 18, and Legge gets collected in the inside barrier. That ends Legge’s attempt at Indy. Veekay leads following pit stop cycles
  18. Green Flag is out! Alex Palou is the leader as of Lap 3.
  19. Romain Grosjean running with the Joe Gibbs Racing number font in tribute to NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, who passed away on Thursday.

  21. Today is it. The 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. Green flag is expected to be dropped at 12:45 PM EST/11:45 AM CST. However, there is a risk of rain around the track area throughout the day. This is important not just for completing the race on time, but also for Katherine Legge, who is attempting to complete “The Double” by racing both at Indy and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 later tonight. Rain could affect whether or not she can complete both races.
  22. Carb Day and final practice today. Alexander Rossi has been cleared to race on Sunday. Also, the Wienie 500! The New York Dog Wienermobile won the second ever running of the event this afternoon, despite the crowd thinking otherwise.
  23. Hard wreck involving Alexander Rossi, Pato O’Ward, and Romain Grosjean. All 3 drivers were taken to the care center; Rossi has been taken to a nearby hospital, but is awake and aware.
  24. A little late update, but Caio Collett and Jack Harvey have had their qualifying times revoked due to unapproved modifications. They will start 32nd and 33rd on the grid respectively.
  25. Watched highlights from today on YouTube and the defense looked awful. Probably not a good omen heading into the Brewers series.
