    I'm just doing PBP for those who don't have gameday and are at work and I got peronally attacked for no reason earlier, obviously by children. Dude, its getting old. Half game out after today with a big 4 game series against the Cards? Anyone else think it couldn't be any other way?

    Umm. Let's. They're down by a lot with not a lot of games left in the season. They're very bad baseball teams. They're chasing 3 teams. While this is true, I just wanted to increase our depression by emphasizing that one of the two swept us and the other team is a game away from sweeping us. Thanks. :cry:

    He's nowhere near the same as he once was. If he goes back on the DL, it will be the last time Wood will be a Cub. Thanks for the wonderful years Wood but it's time for the Cubs to move on. What a sad way to end your career in Chicago huh? No matter how he got where he is right now it still sucks to see how fast and how far it all went down the tubes.

    This would probably be the case if we had won that game. Same with Sammy's game tying 9th inning 2 out HR in game 1. Sammy's HR in that game was one of the most exciting sports moments of my life. Truly amazing. Greatest game I have ever attended. Plus I was lucky and won the ticket lottery and only paid face value for the ticket. Last row upper deck, left field side. I saw both Sammy's & Alou's HR's go over the fence and the mosh pit that ensued. I have never heard Wrigley that loud again.

    I could easily get by with a Pie/Murton/Patterson OF. I could care less about Floyd starting, and I actually hate Jones and Pagan, so its easy for me. Somebody mail Floyd to another continent. What...2 HRs and 4 doubles in the last two and a half months don't cut it? Its like bass fishing, you just put the line out there and watch the birds go by, then wait it out and eventually the line will pull, the lure is enticing, the water will start to sway, the birds will fly by again, and you can go home knowing your fish is out there. Thats just how veterans get out of their slumps.

    Hooray mediocrity!! I'm surprised by the reaction to my comments. Why are we even Cubs fans, guys? Why even follow a team if you can't get caught up in the (positive) excitement of a pennant chase? I didn't choose to be a Cubs fan, it just happened, so I can't answer why I am one. However, it's one thing to be excited about being in a race for the title, and embracing the okayness. The Cubs are in a great position to win the division, because they are lucky to be in the Central. But they aren't a very good team and that bothers me. I want to be a fan of a very good, preferabbly excellent, baseball team. Since I can't just start being a fan of another team, I need the Cubs to be that excellent team. And they aren't. It's annoying. I don't take solace in the fact that it's better than what they've done in most years. If I'm a slave who works for a jerk of a master who beats me daily, I'm not going to be thankful if he starts cutting back to once a week. LMAO! :lol: Sad but true... :cry:
