  1. Nothing really to add, but I agree 100%. If the Bears get a true #1 WR, the offense will be leaps and bounds better. That is assuming getting a much better OL first.
  2. So far so good for Angelo. I would like to at least hear they have/had interest in the top OL free agents though. Looks like Angelo is looking to the draft for the OL help.
  3. Lovin the pics coming in, thanks guys! Its that time of the season for fluff piece articles, ridiculous world series predictions, guys doing running drills in the outfield during a game, some guy who looks like the bat boys uncle playing at third base in the third inning, the Die Hard players of the world to have an amazing spring only to be cut and never heard from again, and TV scans of hot chicks in bathing suits while I freeze in Chicago. I Live for This!
  4. Has anyone ever heard rumors of this on and off again bs with any other trade? I don't remember a trade not going down, or going down with all this speculation and talk. Maybe Arod, but everyone pretty much knew where he would end up anyways.
  5. I am liking the Cubs chances of getting Roberts every day! Ugh... So... Soriano Theriot Lee Aram Fukudome Derosa Soto Pie Looks about right (to Lou) huh?
  6. Anyone here not really that enamored to get Payton in this deal? The guy doesn't bring anything to the table, even as a backup to Pie. Why would Payton be in the deal unless a Cub with a (somewhat) matching salary would be included? Dempster or Marquis for Payton, Gallagher, Murton, Cedeno for Roberts. Is that the way things could be played out? I'm not for it, but I can see something like this happening.
  7. Hello and this thread has survived worse. Yeah, look what happened on page 109! Wow... I have no idea what happened on page 109
  8. Buster Olney was on Sportscenter the other day and when asked what deal might have the biggest impact, he said Fuku. Then he went on to say that if they did get Roberts it would really help to further balance the RH lineup. We've gone from Rick-Rolled to Fluffers. I think a discussion of gay 80s pop bands is the only thing missing from this thread. So I will say that while they didn't have huge commercial success in the U.S., Erasure was pretty good. Now we have it all....? Why leave out metal? Judas Priest rules man!
  9. I hope I have enough room on the DVR for all of it! Thanks for the heads up.
  10. Ricockulous I say!
  11. I'm debating whether he's trying to go for the professorial look or the investment banker look. In either case, Da Farns will layeth the smacketh down on any jabroni who gets in his way! Underneath that Yankee shirt is his Superman Costume. I am now convinced the Farns is a superhero. Look at that stupid hair cut, who is he fooling with those glasses. Come on!
  12. Of course, coming to this thread and posting about how long it is, or how much "fluff" is in here only adds to it's length. When the thread title gets updated I pop in to see what the fuss is. You gotta ignore the rest of the stuff here and laugh it off. Like 90% of it.
  13. Tis the season I guess... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ah9rlNJOdKmB74R2OZFRjVURvLYF?slug=ap-cubsstart&prov=ap&type=lgns
  14. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v727/Burtonbells/?action=view&current=hillrbi.flv Hill's crazy RBI...not that great of quality.
  15. :-s you heard him, now get lost! Take UMfan with you, that guys insider's suck!
  16. Stephen Drew, Julio Lugo, Yuniesky Betancourt, Felipe Lopez, Jack Wilson, Jason Bartlett, Adam Everett, and of course, Khalil Greene You sure? Dude, none of those guys have speed or can leadoff!
  17. Ah, the marketplace of ideas.... If you want to get into a debate about whether John Mabry is better than Albert Pujols, you're welcome to. You're still going to get laughed at for arguing something that's so obviously wrong. You're forgetting that John Mabry is known to buy at least 2 drinks a night for his teammates when they go out after home wins, which in my league is worth 59 points a month. I think we are in the same league, the "I played and or coached; so there!" league?
  18. Soriano LF Roberts 2B Lee 1B Fukudome RF Aram 3B Soto C Cedeno SS Pie CF I can see Lou using this lineup. I hope he doesn't get "Gritty" on us and use Roberts Theriot Lee Fukudome Aram Soriano Soto Pie
  19. And Greene's power and top shelf defense wouldn't make our team better? Can you explain why youd rather have: Below Average at position offense/Adequate defense at SS with Good offense and above average D at 2B vs. Above average at position offense/Very Good defense at SS with Good offense and average D at 2B? How are you judging below average and above average? I'll turn to fantasy baseball because they take into account every hit and aspect to a players offensive game. I would say both players are average to below average at their position offensively. The only think Greene brings is power. Whereas Theriot brings speed. Plus Greene has better defense. You're using fantasy baseball to judge the relative worth of a player? The same type of system that values a HR as much as a SB?? No i'm not. I just used fantasy baseball to compare a players offensive ranking with another player in the same positions offensive ranking. And I use a points based league, where HRs are worth 4 points, and SBs are worth 2. Greene and Theriot are right next to eachother towards the middle to lower half. So basically, because they are right next to each other in your fantasy league you came up with this conclusion? Seriously? You would rather have Theriot at SS than Greene right now?
  20. Or he was better on the road because he likes when people are yelling at him and hassling him. Or he doesnt feel pressure on the road like he does at home. No one knows. I agree that PetCo is a harder park to hit HR's in, but no one is for certain that he would put up his road numbers all the time if he was on the Cubs. My head hurts
  21. Why are you so overly optimistic? Yeah, he is awesome and he will (probably) outproduce anything we had a catcher the last 10 years, but nothing is certain. Based on his minor league numbers, we can assume two options: (yours/optimisitc) or (others/pessimistic).
  22. I agree, no one knows if he would have still hit 3 HR's in the 5 hole, and I agree that he needs protection behind him, but that is why Geovany Soto will be there. This guy will prove to be a monster behind Soriano. In my opinion Soto will hit 25-30 HR's and bat .300. This is good protection for him. I hope that's what happens. But I would rather Soriano have the protection of Roberts, Lee, Fukudome, and Aram, than Soto, Pie, Cedeno, Pitcher...
