  1. Frick'n MLB.tv. Apparently you are able to watch either feed, away or home, if you have premium, which I do. However, when you click on it in the box, it loads a screen telling you to buy it, and if you try to go to the MLB.tv listings, well, nothing shows up anymore. MLB.com needs to hire some better programmers.
  2. Assuming the Cubs win today, that would set the magic numbers at: Cubs Mil 6 Hou 4 If: Cubs Sweep, Hou Sweep: Cubs Hou 1 Mil X Cubs Sweep, Hou loses at least one game: Cubs Hou E Mil E Cubs win 2 of 3, Hou Sweeps: Cubs Hou 2 Mil 2 Cubs win 2 of 3, Hou wins 2 of 3: Cubs Mil 2 Hou 1 Cubs win 2 of 3, Hou wins 1 of 3: Cubs Mil 2 Hou E Cubs win 1 of 3, Hou Sweeps: Cubs Mil 4 Hou 3 Cubs win 1 of 3, Hou 2 of 3: Cubs Mil 4 Hou 2 Cubs win 1 of 3, Hou 1 of 3: Cubs Mil 4 Hou 1 Cubs win 1 of 3, Hou swept: Cubs Mil 4 Hou E If the Cubs get swept, Houston can not get eliminated. So basically, Cubs need to win today, sweep the Brewers, and have Houston lose 1 game to clinch on Thursday. The Cards magic number is 3, so they can be elimated as soon as tomorrow.
  3. Good thing MLB made a decision and was able to get the Astros out of town before the hurricane hit. Oh wait... This is all on McClane. Houston only has their idiot owner to blame for not making the decision in advance. They could and should have travelled on Friday, no problem. There are seven domed/indoor stadiums in MLB currently: ARI HOU MIL MIN TB TOR SEA Of the seven, only Houston and Arizona were to be playing at home this weekend. Therefore, there were 5 available. If McClain hadn't been an idiot and waited way to long, and then wanted to play in Atlanta, an open stadium when MLB did not want to risk the games being rained out and making the move pointless, as then it would be a waste of time and money. He could have easily gotten the game played in a more truely neutral site (like there is one, the Cubs fans would always be the majority). MIN would have probably been out with MIL as being Northern, Tor and Sea due to distance, leaving TB. And people shouldn't bother saying "play the games at the end of the season" as that would not only delay the playoffs, but also be even more unfair to the Cubs, Brewers, Phillies, Mets, and whoever wins the west, as the Cubs lose whatever advantage they may have gotten by clinching early, while the Astros get an advantage by basically playing the AAA team that the Cubs would have started. McClain was trying to force MLB to kiss his ass and give him what he wanted and loss.

  5. I, of course, happened to be traveling yestaurday, flying home from visiting friends in Peoria, so the last time I check the game before getting on the plane in O'Hare was around 9 central time and saw that the Cubs were up 5-0. So, of course, I miss Z throwing a no-hitter.
  6. You just blew my ---SOAPDROPPING--- mind. Except that once they clinch the division, they clinch the playoff spot and can not be the wild card, so both would default to 0... And it would happen if say it was Cubs: 90-70 Mets: 89-71 Phils: 89-71 Brewers: 88-72 NLWest Leader: 81-79 The Cubs in this senario have clinched the division with the Best Record, but are still not out of being passed by the Wild Card. However, if that were to happen, they would not be the best record, as in order for the other team (say the Phils) to be the wild card, the Mets would have to win the division and claim best record (depending on tiebreakers; if it goes to the Mets, I don't know). However, in this case, the PO # will ALWAYS be less than the DIV # because in order for the Second place team in the Wild Card to impact the Cubs, it has to be within striking distance OR in the same division. (If the WC is already ahead of the Cubs, but in another div, it does not impact the number). The PO# can not be less than the DIV#
  7. Make up call for all the strikes he refused to call. 1 MORE!!!!
  8. Despite the fact that it shouldn't have, it has...
  9. What just happened? Gameday is still on the top of the ninth.
  10. You would think that at some point, Lee would at least try to change his swing so he is atleast hitting line drives, but no. He's like a frick'n rookie out there, not adjusting at all.
  11. 6-3! To replace 4-3! At least he takes it to the left side!
  12. O: SCORE SOME DAMN RUNS AND STOP SUCKING. Maybe try playing like you used to this year, not like you used to in 2006, you know, patience and going the other way when the pitches are constantly outside, cause this trying to pull everything crud ain't going to cut it.
  13. Its not easy getting outs when the batters can sit back and wait for a pitch down the middle as thats the only way to get a strike. Get outta it, Marmol.
  14. The problem seems to be that the only way to get a called strike is by either throwing the ball down the middle or getting lucky.
  15. 8th. Were going to the 8th (and yes he is due up 2nd).
  16. Can the pitchers please STOP throwing fastballs over the middle of the plate to Pujols?
  17. Will the real Aramis Ramirez please return?
  18. Luckily, Milwaukee sucks just as much. There is no way in hell this team should still be leading the Central, but somehow they are.
  19. In other news, 2 on, 1 out, Shouse into pitch in Mil.
  20. In video game baseball, after a few fouls I would have just beaned the hitter Yeah, so do I, sometimes.
