Cubs have really struggled with velo the last couple months. If Yu comes out firing 99-100 like Cease was, they could very well struggle again.

So simple. And Shota had a 3.2 ERA going into the deadline, wasnt bad yet, so this is ridiculous. There were better options today and it feels like the organization gave a loyal nod here TBH. Rea and Taillon have been far better.

Same. We were in good position to. On Theo Benedet - I think its pretty nuts that hes getting the nod. Impossible position to be put in or not, he performed horribly. He's a UDFA/No pedigree/guy off the street and hes gonna get abused just like Jones would against certain types of players. He's not ready for the deep end. Hopefully Wright and Trapilo (at least 2nd round pedigree) can lock down the tackle positions. Im not enthused much by Wright if he cant play LT. We can find guys to adequately cover the broadside. Top 10 picks should be able to block the blindside. Maybe rigid but that's how I feel. -
Who the horsefeathers wants a guy who's played 8 years without bunting to try to do one in a playoff game anyway? You're all alone on this one. The reason he doesn't bunt is because the organization realizes how idiotic it almost always is. From Maddon to Ross to Counsell, they dont want Ian Happ to try to bunt man.

The Reds and Mets, at the end of the season, were equal, just with opposing weaknesses. The Mets pitching towards the end of the season was so bad it completely offset a good offense. In the 2nd half the starters had a 5.3 ERA, in the bottom 5. The Reds pitching OTOH was excellent. 3rd most fwar from SP and 10th in ERA for RP. Their offense was as bad as the Mets pitching. Neither team was fit to face the Dodgers and that's why they fought for the 6th seed.
