  1. I'd still give the honor to Dave Dombrowski I don't know... that Jurrjens+ for Renteria trade isn't looking very good right now, especially for a team desperate for pitching.
  2. I bet Lugo isn't the starter by the end of the season. He already has 11 errors and RSN is all over him. His hitting has been pretty poor as well.
  3. Yeah, it still depresses me. I have no hard feelings towards Prior whatsoever. With the way the organization handled him in 2003, can anybody really blame him for leaving? As much as it sucks for Cubs fans the way his career has played out, I think people forget how much it sucks for him. He was destined to be a superstar making hundred of millions and now what is he? Nothing.
  4. Will DeWitt even play when Nomar gets back (for a few weeks until he's hurt again)? Either way, accept immediately. Howard is going to explode pretty soon. That's what I'm hoping, at least.
  5. Check out what some guy on the cubs.com message board said about Marmol pitching the 9th. yay
  6. In a way it's kind of a cool story if that ends up being his only major league PA.
  7. Man, what is it with the Florida teams locking up their young stars for ridiculously good contracts this season? Okay, there have only been 2, but still.
  8. Would have rather had the Cards win.
  9. I think I want the Brewers to iwn this series just so Yost doesn't get fired. I think he'll be a big part of the Cubs success this year.
  10. Wow, a Cub-esque inning for the Brewers. R Braun singled to center. P Fielder singled to deep right center, R Braun to third. C Hart grounded into fielder's choice to shortstop, R Braun out at home, P Fielder to second. B Hall grounded into double play, second to shortstop to first, C Hart out at second. Neat.
  11. The Rays are such an awesome story this season. You just can't suck forever. And it's a victory for defensive improvements as a way to turn around a team And they're only going to get better. Not only in the next few years, but also this year. Garza and Kazmir have contributed absolutely nothing so far and they're still, what, 3 games over .500 now? I live near Tampa and there's a lot of good feelings going on right now, for the first time EVER.
  12. Longoria walkoff shot.
  13. Watching the Cardinals and Brewers play is the most annoying thing ever. I get pissed every time either team scores.
  14. James Shields has a shutout working through 9. It's going to the bottom of the 9th with no score. He's only given up 1 hit, 0 walks, and 8 k's. He's also only thrown 92 pitches so he should be able to go at least 10 if the Rays don't score here. When is the last time a pitcher went 11 innings?
  15. Julio Lugo has 11 errors?!?
  16. Under normal circumstances I'd be rooting for the Cards, but I'm not so sure. I think that if the Brewers slide goes on much longer there's a good chance that Yost gets the axe, and I think it is very much in the Cubs best interest to keep Yost in this division.
  17. Okay I only ask for fantasy help when I'm really torn. In one of my money leagues I can have Shaun Marcum straight up for Edinson Volquez. Volquez has been filthy, but walks are a category in this league (which is stupid since walks are already taken into account in WHIP) and I know Edinson is going to hurt me every week in that. I also know that his walks are eventually going to catch up with him and he'll pay the price, so I'm aware that he's pitching over his head and it's a good idea to sell high. However, Marcum is pitching over his head right now, I'm just not sure how much he's pitching over his head. All I have to go on is numbers right now so I'm hoping somebody might know more than I do about these guys.
  18. I just re-watched the Lilly RBI single and that was one of the most ridiculous looking swings I've ever seen. His arms are fully extended the whole time.
  19. They were hovering around 5-10 games under .500 all season and then made a little run to get to .500 while the Brewers and Cubs were losing practically every day.
  20. I am going to be crazy to say this, but I still think of the Brewers as bigger threats than St. Louis. My best outcome would be the Cardinals to take 2 of 3. I didn't say cheering. This is the Cardinals, though, the same team we keep waiting to fall off and never does. They did last year. Yeah in late September. Early-mid September actually. On September 6th they were one game out but then lost 9 in a row to fall 7 games back.
  21. Blushing? I looked at that for like 10 seconds before I posted it because I knew it didn't sound right..
  22. It looks like somebody just gave him a compliment and he's flushing.

  25. I think I'd still rather have St. Lous win this series.
