  1. OMG11212!@!@ HE HAD A BAD INNING!!! MY WORLD ISD FALLINGAPART!!
  2. I predict we lose 2-0. Oh well, Marquis vs. Halladay tomorrow Edit: Just as I posted this it becomes 2-0. Sweet.
  3. He probably fell to avoid a possible leg injury.
  4. With Marquis going against Halladay tomorrow, it would be nice to win this game.
  5. 3 baserunners really. Lee basically replaced Theriot. An out would have been recorded either way.
  6. Are you serious? The ball was almost to the infield as Lee hit 3rd. He would have been caught in a rundown.
  7. They never have enough offense. Their rotation is ridiculous.
  8. I don't even think it's a popular belief.
  9. Value to who?
  10. Or it's just because Patterson has been outperforming Murton in Iowa. I don't really see the anger over Patterson being called up. I'm glad. I've always defended Murton and think it's ridiculous the way the organization has jerked him around, but he didn't really earn this callup. If He was putting up his 2007 Iowa numbers right now, then it would be different. As someone else said, a 26 year old corner outfielder who is slugging under .400 and OPSing just over .800 in the PCL doesn't deserve to be called up, I don't care what has happened in the past. He's experienced enough in AAA and at the major league level that he should be ripping up the pitching down there.
  11. When healthy, Harden is better than Sabathia. When healthy, Mark Priors better than both. Is Mark Prior healthy? How long will Rich Harden stay healthy? Harden might be better than Sabathia when healthy, but if I'm giving up valuable chips to acquire a deadline starter, I want to make sure as much as possible that starter will be able to pitch the final three months of the year - that overrides a slight differential in talent. I'm not denying that Harden is a huge health risk, but his situation is not even close to the same as Prior's. I also believe that Harden would be much much cheaper (if Sabathia is even avilable in the first place). If Harden is healthy, there is no doubt that Beane is going to deal him for the best offer.
  12. Haha, Thom is talking about how pathetic the approach of the Reds' hitters has been this season and how poor the situaional hitting is. Hmm, I wonder why.
  13. Todd Walker vs. the Sox a few years ago. It was too complete the sweep as well. That was a walk, not a HBP.
  14. Rooting for a Dusty Baker offense is bringing back all sorts of painful memories. Seeing Patterson leading off yet again is almost too much to take.
  15. Probably b/c he was playing like crap when he went on the DL before, so it was unlikely his replacement couldn't match his .577 OPS. That doesn't really make any sense, unless you're suggesting the mental impact will play a big role. What Soriano was doing at the time of his 2 injuries is irrelevant when discussing how they'll be without him. They'll be playing with the same team they played with last time he got injured, the same team they did fine with.
  16. LOL. You're telling me every player the Cubs have ever signed was clean? Hell, that minor league pitcher (Hernandez?) in the system was suspended for 50 games earlier this season. Should we release him? SIGN BONDS!!! Yeah, because that's the exact same thing.
  17. Oh well, he's fat.
  18. When healthy, Harden is better than Sabathia. When healthy, Mark Priors better than both. Is Mark Prior healthy?
  19. What the hell are greenies?
  20. Kasper: "Murton grounds to third" "Murton, two hopper to third" "Murton hits a little dribbler to third" "Murton grounds right to the pitcher" Did he even hit a fly ball when he was called up last time? You already posted that.
  21. Dunn in right field sounds like a disaster.
