    Are they? I'm not so sure. The patience has gotten prgressively worse each month since the season started. This offense is better than last year's, but is it significantly better? Fukudome has actually been a downgrade offensively in RF so far, so the only real upgrade is Soto.

    Yeah, he did it to himself, but that doesn't make addiction something he could just shake off. It's a disease. "Nobody says, "foresooth Mitch, you have lupus!" Comparing drug addiction to something like lupus is pretty ridiculous to me. Also, this "it's a disease, they cant help it" argument has always seemed like an excuse to me. Trust me, I've known drug addicts before so I understand how difficult and serious drug addiction is, but ultimately a person has the ability to stop doing drugs if they want it bad enough. A person with lupus can't make it go away, it's not possible. there's been an epidemic of people whiffing on hedberg jokes lately Who tried to make a Hedberg joke?

    Look at the run differential. The Cubs' pyth. record is 60-38, the Cardinals' is 53-47. By the way.. the "the Cards would be in first if their bullpen was the same as last season" argument is a pretty weak one. What does last year have to do with this year? If the Rockies played the same as they did last year, they'd be in first place. It doesn't work that way. Anyways, you could also pick parts of the Cubs team (Rich Hill comes to mind) that haven't performed like last season and say "well, the if so and so played like last year, the Cubs would have an even bigger lead over the Cardinals". You can say that with pretty much any team, so it's pretty weak, especially considering your bullpen was pretty flukey last season to begin with.

    Haha, I just watched the replay of the walkoff grand slam and Aaron Miles posing after a home run is maybe the funniest thing I've ever seen.

    I could have bolded everything you wrote. I didn't realize Soto and Ankiel were playing the same position. As far as the rest of that pile of crap you posted: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Oh and for good measure: :rotfl: :rotfl: Not only was it terrible analysis of those 4 "matchups", but it's pretty funny that that's the way he's comparing teams...... as if lineup depth, starting pitching, and relief pitching are minor details. If you expanded these "matchups" into other areas of the game, the Cubs would have the advantage in almost every possible example. Anyways, I'd take Soriano/Lee/Ramirez/Soto over Pujols/Glaus/Ankiel/Ludwick for the rest of this season. even if the Cardinal foursome has outperformed them so far this season.
