  1. The Cardinals ae actually more like the White Sox than they are the Twins. I'm not talking about the actual team on the field. I'm talking about how the organization and how they are always competetive no matter whattheir roster looks like on opening day.
  2. The Twins are unbelievable. They're like the Cardinals of the AL.
  3. God Brian Anderson has to be the worst PBP guy in baseball. He just said that Brandon Moss was the "big prize" in the Jason Bay trade. Uhh, Andy LaRoche? Moss was like the 4th best player in that trade.
  4. What people seem to be forgetting is that the Cubs have a very tough in September. There is a very limited amount of games left against crappy teams like the Nationals and Reds, so losing 2 of the first 4 games of this homestand is not "no big deal". This homestand is where we were supposed to extend our lead. Now we have to win the next 2 just to make it a "eh" homestand.
  5. Kendall is by far my most hated Brewer
  6. It's gonna suck when they take 2 of 3 from us next week.
  7. Smoltz is still good when healthy
  8. Maddux getting shelled in his first LA start
  9. Pretty funny to see a manager have Izturis bunt after letting the pitcher swing away with a guy on first and no outs
  10. look at zach duke go. he's adorable
  11. Okay I apologize to everybody for acting [expletive]. I just get so worked up over losses this seaosn for some reason. You'd think it would be the opposite since the team is so good.
  12. Ignorant was a poor choice of wording, as it was meant to criticize the opinion, not the person, so I apologize for that if you took that against you personally. However, this game individually doesn't matter...any more than any other game. And if we miss the playoffs, that's still true. At the end of the season, I promise you, we'll barely remember this game if we lose the division. There will be so much more heartbreak between now and then you'll look back on 2003 fondly. You didn't say "this game doesn't matter more than others". You said it doesn't matter. Pretty big difference. And I'm not talking about how we'll feel about this loss if we blow it. I'm just saying it will have mattered.
  13. Wait, Soriano stole home? What happened?
  14. At the end of the year, are you gonna care? If it costs us the division I will If we lose the division, it's not going to be this game that's the cause. It's gonna be the 18 more that we lose down the stretch. If we lose the division by 1 game, splitting the season series vs the worst team in baseball will have had nothig to do with it? Interesting logic. If we lose the division by 1 game, that means we're losing to the likes of the Reds, Pirates, and Astros down the stretch. Those are division teams, that we play a ton of. Those records are much more meaningful than a couple of 3 game series against the Nats. How about this? This game is a tradeoff for the one against the Marlins that we should've lost.... You're missing the point. You sid that it won't matter that we split the season series vs the Nats at the end of the season. If we end up losing the division by 1 game, it absolutely will have mattered. Yes there would be a big collapse in September, but that doesn't change the fact that we wouldn't have lost the division if we took care of the worst team in baseball. All I'm sayin is that this team has not clinched anything yet, so people need to stop acting like we've got things wrapped up. Nope. You're missing the point. One loss DOES NOT MATTER. Doesn't matter if what the margin of win/loss at the end is. It's a collective thing. This loss would matter exactly as much the other 49 this year. To put more importance on this game is ignorant. Okay, let's say we finish one game out of a playoff spot. If we won the season series vs the Nats, do we finish one game out of a playoff spot? Answer me that question please, instead of calling me ignorant. The what-if game is fun. Again, if we lose the division, that means that we've likely lost the season series to the Reds, and Astros. Why not play the what-if game with division opponents instead of the nationals who we only played 6 games against this season? A) You said this game doesn't matter B) You implied that at the end of the season we won't care about not winning against the Nats If we miss the playoffs, both of those statements are false, PERIOD. I'm not talking about the other losses. You call me ignorant, and then say that this game doesn't matter? Right.
  15. You could also point to the numerous other games the Cubs lost over the course of the season as being equally responsible, whether they were losses to the Brewers or to the Nationals. Of course, ut he said that this game does not matter, then goes on to call ME ignorant.

  18. The Angels have like a 15 game lead. Also the Natioansl are way worse than the Braves

  20. Anybody notice that the par has been pretty lifeless this homestand? That includes the players too. Everyone looks bored.
  21. At the end of the year, are you gonna care? If it costs us the division I will
  22. Keep in mind that the Nationals scored a total of 26 runs during their 12 game losing streak that just ended.
  23. Good thing we didn't pitch to Willie effing Harris.
  24. and i never undersand how grown (?) men (?) literally act like five year olds denied a lollipop when their first place, slam dunk to make the playoffs baseball team gets behind 6-4 in the sixth inning of a virtually meaningless baseball game. yet it happens. We're not a slam dunk to make the playoffs, but okay. looooooool It's highly likely, but nothing is a slam dunk.
