  1. Was Piniella the starting pitcher? Did he drop a fly ball? Give it a big rest please. In the whole scheme of things, Zambrano should be ashamed of himself. Nope, but Lou did leave Z in for way too long. He's also wasted our 3rd best reliever for one out. He also double switched out the hottest hitter on the team. He also used Cedeno to PH and bunt even though he's a terrible bunter.
  2. Besides being one of the best backup best shortstops in baseball? Nothing. Slick defense, cool. He sucks at everything else. And this is why you shouldn't bother, SSR. Yeah, we should be happy to have a talented player who sucks at every fundamental thing he ever tries to do backing up Theriot. He might suck, but he has good range and stuff.
  3. If anybody in this thread is managing the Cubs in this game we're winning by about 4. Seriously.
  4. Lou's brutal managing continues to cost the Cubs
  5. I hate bunts, but I'd bunt here since it's Cedeno. I sure wish Derosa was up....
  6. He didnt dog it on the play, he misplayed a ball. Did he give it max effort? Exactly. There is NO excuse for that to happen multiple times in a season. NONE. He should have been pulled if Lou had any balls. He missed a catch. That's not dogging it. And Soriano shouldn't be pulled because that would be a stupid thing to do. When a major leaguer drops severals routine balls over the course of a season, it's pretty clear that he's half-assing it. It's really not hard to catch fly balls. When you drop one you kind of overlook it, but when it happens all the time something has to be done. That simply cannot happen in the playoffs. orrrrr he's just kinda bad at it.... Don't you realize how easy it is to catch popups? That's like saying someone is bad at blinking. There's no skill involved, you just do it.

He should have been pulled if Lou had any balls. I'm glad he's using his brain and not his balls to make this decision. Well when he non-chalants a popup and drops it again later this season don't complain.
  9. Really going to put it on Neal? It's as much on Cotts as it is on Soriano

  11. And of course Lou will call out players in the postgame, even though this loss is all his fault
  12. This loss is on Lou more than anyone else
  13. I'd gladly take out of this inning with it still a 7-7 game
  14. By the way, Derosa's OPS is up to .867
  15. So much for the Yankees sweeping the Red Sox and getting back into the race
  16. What's the point of checking the guy at first over and over again when it's going to cause you to walk the hitter and force him to second anyways?
  17. Sick of Lou? That's misplaced; Blame Z. Most managers would have done exactly what he did when one of the top of the rotation starters is pitching. Zambrano gave up 6 ERs No it's not misplaced. Z had nothing, Lou left him in. I don't care what most managers would do. Z shouldn't have been left in a position where he could give up 6ER. Can't just run to the bullpen at the first sign of trouble early in the game. Except that was about the 19th sign of trouble
  18. Let-s see Waste our 3rd best reliever for one out in the 5th inning? check Bringing in a guy with a lesser chance of getting the next guy out? check Double switching out one of our hottest hitters in a 5th inning tie? check
  19. 5-6 with the way Lou is overmanaging the pen again
  20. Wow, Lou is having an awful game. I can't wait until we're forced to use Howry in a 9th inning tie tonight.
