Anything around 40% on this volume for an entire season would completely blow any expectations I had out of the water. I was thinking like 32% on maybe 2/3rds this # of attempts. yup anything in the high 30's would be awesome. before the season i was hoping for like 35% if he was going to take this many. still a lot of season to go, but it looks legit.

rose now shooting .400 from 3. amazing. i was skeptical when he came out with his "i have a 3 point shot now" quote during the offseason, but damn. shooting over 4 attempts a game at 40%? sick not to mention he's taken at least 3 or 4 of those last second heaves from beyond half court at the buzzer, which go against your percentage

pretty sure the advanced stats show him to be more than a 3-4 starter besides, judging a player based on "stuff" at this point of his career is kind of pointless. you can factor in the division he plays in and stuff, but the dude is 27. it's highly likely that he's already shown what his "stuff" does in the majors. we're not talking about a 22 year old guy who hasn't really put it together yet. garza has put it together. he is what he is at this point. anyways, i like garza. i hope w eget him.

his performance has nothing to do with what spot in the lineup he bats. His career splits don't agree with you. So when do we use stats and when don't we? Ok, over a 162 game schedule we can expect certain things from Marlon based on his career averages. None of his numbers would suggest he is the type of hitter most people would bat 3rd. use them logically, for starters. then go from there
