  1. i just remember saying "are you [expletive] kidding me" over and over as hansbrough kept knocking them down
  2. i really hope they can work something out so there is a season next year, because right now the NBA is the best it's been since the 90's.
  3. did you see the second half? hansbrough had people all over him and he kept knocking down long jumpers.
  4. Granger is a talented offensive player. He is a guy who I expect to hit a couple tough shots. Don't forget this guy averaged 25ppg at one point. There's shooting out of your mind, there's having a good shooting night, and there's making shots NBA players are supposed to make. The Pacers were somewhere in between 2 and 3. i don't see how you can think this. they were making long contested jumpers alllllll day. oh, and 10-18 from three. it wasn't like the bulls d was breaking down and giving up wide opens jumpers. those guys had hands in their faces constantly and kept knocking down stupid ass rainbow jumpers
  5. this is why i considered the last sunday of the regular season to be a massive failure despite the fact that they snuck in the playoffs. i knw vancouver was going to work us. they needed the 5 seed. they weren't winning a cup this year anyways, but we at least could have maybe won a series against anaheim (prob would have been favorites, actually). it would have been better than getting humiliated in the first round and give vancouver the satisfaction of knoing they aren't our bitches anymore. it was obvious all year that this team just didn't have "it". even when their backs were against the wall late in the season, the couldn't muster up enough energy and fight to win games consistently. hawks should have been better all season long and constantly lost the battle of effort against the other team. hawks had what... like, the 4th best goal differential in the NHL? and they barely make the playoffs? it's not for all the BS late losses in games we should have won, we'd have been at least the 4 seed and right there with detroit and san jose. of course the injuries didn't help, but still. this team should have been higher than an 8 seed.
  6. That's not really news or that surprising. I'd hate him too if I weren't a Bulls fan. He's kind of a jackass but he's our jackass. i don't think he's a jackass. he just trolls everybody. it's awesome.
  7. i'll say it again. korver= clutch. he's has a crazy amount of big clutch threes this year. i also liked him and deng pumping up the crowd. i've never seen deng like that. the UC crowd was surprisingly great
  8. oh, and deng also played a crazy amount of minutes this season
  9. He wasn't as good this year as he was last year. Yep. He was healthier this year, but really didn't do anything differently outside of shooting a few more 3's. Winning lots of games will change perceptions. The things I am thinking of are not really measurable outside of threes. His defense has improved and I think he is playing more physically. It seemed to me that Luol was afraid of contact before. He shot fewer FT/g than last season i usually disagree with him about deng, but i think he's right. the main thing that pissed me off about loul before this seaosn was how soft he was. he'd always be scared on fast breaks and would go up weak whenever he was at the basket. constantly went for the layup instead of the dunk, and missed a ton of them. this year he's going to the basket stronger and actually throwing it down. i don't know if he's been better or worse this season, but he's definitely looked a lot tougher
  10. 28-4 to end the season
  11. Lee put up OPSes of .913, .823, and .972 in '07, '08, and '09. I'm not sure it would have been reasonable to expect him to ever repeat his '05 performance. He was still a darn good player after his wrist healed completely. no but he could have still been a 40 home run guy
  12. eff that. i'll always wonder how the rest of lee's career would have been without the broken wrist
  13. when ramirez is gone, i'll remember him for being super consistent during his time with the cubs. not just year-to-year, but during the season also. soriano in his prime was just ridiculously streaky
  14. i liked this comment-
  15. i pretty much feel this way about the hall of fame also, to be honest
  16. I think it has to do with signifying how something will be remembered in 10, 20, 50 years, etc. when many people were not around to watch the season first hand. Winning an MVP award really bumps up the value of how a player is remembered. i think it's mostly championships and numbers that players are remembered for when i think of the best athletes of all time, i really have no idea how many MVPs were won by the guys who were before my time.
  17. or shootout win
  18. why did he use quotation marks on "every"?
  19. New York and Philly played each other last season in game 82, winner got into the playoffs, loser didn't. It went to SO. i know, but that game was still just for the 8 seed. the blackhawks can get the 5 seed or miss the playoffs based on the outcome of one game. if we win and get anaheim in the first round, we'll be favorites. or we could miss the playoffs completely. that's crazy
  20. being out of the playoffs or in the 5th seed determined in one game, against your rival. NO PRESSURE i cant imagine a single regular season game ever having that much importance
  21. He was predicting that a while ago when he went on a twitter tirade about the Celtics blowing the 1 seed. So he was probably thinking that (if not writing it) long before last night. simmons was pimping the bulls before the season started
  22. Why? This has taken a big rebound from Deng and a huge leap from Rose plus ridiculously good bench play to achieve. Rose is making the third-year leap, that was expected. Deng is actually shooting worse from the field, from three, from the FT line and rebounding less than a year ago. But he defends, which is the real thing. Everyone knew he would defend and that Noah would defend. Couple that with getting away from Del Negro ball and getting a defensive genius as a head coach, coupled with a great defensive assistant, combined with the expected Rose jump and however many games of Boozer you're gonna get. I'm just saying it's something that didn't take imagination to see coming. Realistically all you had to do was go "wow, if their bench defends, they're going to be really good." But maybe everyone was so caught up in the Miami spectacle that they missed it. the main thing was that people still thought the bulls were missing a 2 that could make plays behind rose.
  23. how do you guys rank this team compared to the 2008 cubs in terms of dreamiest regular season ever
