  1. More accurately, he left the game with the lead the bullpen blew it, then had the bases loaded with 0 outs in the bottom of the 9th and Parkey hit into a triple play. more accurately, he left the game with a lead after giving up 4 runs in 5 innings because the offense scored 6
  2. I'm not doing any of that, and you probably know much more about football than me. It's just that when you consider the cost of getting him in the first place I, dont see how you can say that he did enough in this game when they scored 15 points and lost. trubisky has nothing to do with the defense. he doesn't get the benefit of lower expectations just because they are going to keep the score down. hes not some cheap journeyman that allowed them to use resources elsewhere. Clearly I do know more then you. 1) the game plan want Mitches to design. 2) he didnt commit the PI on defense 3) the team has never asked him to kick FGs 4) I love the guy, but Miller has to jump on his own loose ball. Rookie mistake. But mitch doesn’t possess the ability to get down field to do that for him. I don’t know any QB who can. Mitch is the guy. Parkey needs to float the other way. i may not know as much about football, but apparently i know more about applying basic logic to sports. why are you talking about some random ass plays when we already know what they amounted to. they amounted to the opposition only scoring 16 points. i think the second year qb that was taken #2 overall shouldn't have had to rely on a kick at the end to score more than 16 points. again, i never even said he was bad. i just find it baffling to hear people say he did what they needed him to. if *that* is all they needed from the quarterback position, then why did they invest so heavily in it. like just sign jeff garcia or something
  3. guy got a quality start, that's all you can ask for
  4. the bears were a 12 win team facing a wild card team at home. if just getting into position for your terrible kicker to make a game winner at the buzzer is all that is being asked of him, I guess the question becomes why are the expectations so low What a stupid horsefeathering thing to say. That obviously wasn't the expectation at the beginning of the game. Given the situation (57 seconds and 1 timeout), that obviously became the expectation. Expectation was met. If the kicker met his, we wouldn't be having this conversation. you're literally saying that he met the expectation that became the expectation after the original expectation wasn't meant
  5. the bears were a 12 win team facing a wild card team at home. if just getting into position for your terrible kicker to make a game winner at the buzzer is all that is being asked of him, I guess the question becomes why are the expectations so low From 5 wins to facing the SB champions. But yes, thats all he needed to do, and giving the Miller gaf just before halftime, Mitch did more than enough. Sure, bail on Mitch. Ostracize Nagy, Pace and start over. Because Parkey is a cuddly teddy bear we all should love. I'm not doing any of that, and you probably know much more about football than me. 6. They needed him to put up more than 16 points and he didn't He did. He gave Parkey the kick. Twice. Parkey proved he could do it and he failed the bears were a 12 win team facing a wild card team at home. if just getting into position for your terrible kicker to make a game winner at the buzzer is all that is being asked of him, I guess the question becomes why are the expectations so low
  7. I'm sorry, but you guys are going to have to start putting some evidence with these statements. When was Mitch off target early (talking about legitimately missing passes) that prevented the team from scoring? I'm not at all claiming he was great. Just saying, he in no way prevented them from scoring more points as you and Goony are alluding to. Yuuuup. Mitch played fine and in the clutch, played the game we needed him to. They needed him to put up more than 16 points and he didn't
  8. it makes losing hurt less if you remember that this is a trash sport full of bad people Great, then move over to the baseball pages. i was just trying to cheer you up!
  9. What the hell does this mean? it makes losing hurt less if you remember that this is a trash sport full of bad people
  10. 2/3 of the bears roster probably hurts women so why even care really
  11. what a horsefeathering LOSER
  12. have fun answering for that all offseason, nagy
  13. time for big dick mitch
  14. it was late and to the head. it was pretty obvious
  15. butler is hilariously toxic. i'm glad we ended up getting a good return for him before he forced us to make a bad trade. and speaking of former bulls cheese butts
  16. i ask because harper is such a unique FA in terms of both talent and age, so i kind of read his tweet to be downplaying the amount he'll get. i know 5 wins is worth a ton, but i think calling him a 5 war player is kind of underselling him.
  17. i'm talking about the 5 war player part. is he saying the amount is something you'd expect a 5 win player to get? that's a very vague statement. he's saying he's getting the 10 year big AAV offers a 5 win player should be getting a 5 win player of his age, or a 5 win player at the more normal FA age? a player who is consistently worth 5 wins, or a player who has been worth 5 wins but will likely have seasons being worth much more? like, lorenzo cain was a 5 win player for a while, but he would never get 10 years. i just have no idea what kind of amount he means by just saying "5 war player".
  18. someone splain this tweet to me Levine reported earlier in the day the White Sox wouldn’t go to 10 years on Manny/Bryce (7 was allegedly as much as they’d go). Then he put this poorly worded tweet up to say Bryce does have 10 year offers at good AAV’s and shoehorned in the WS aren’t one of those teams using the info he previously reported. i'm talking about the 5 war player part. is he saying the amount is something you'd expect a 5 win player to get? that's a very vague statement.
  19. someone splain this tweet to me
  20. gleyber number 23? i just don't see the ceiling
  21. i bet they love board games, but don't play any of the "dirty" ones that make them say things like "ass" and horny
