  1. First off, he doesn't have to admit to making a mistake en route to WINNING US A horsefeathering WORLD SERIES in order to be aware he did it and thus be willing/able to learn from it. Secondly, if I'm Theo, the only thing I'm thinking after seeing Maddon fumble a bit with the bullpen is "wow, Maddon can really struggle with a less than great bullpen, I'm gonna make sure I get him a great bullpen" and then I horsefeathering do exactly that because I'm Theo.
  2. That would be because there is no evidence of it whatsoever other than Correa's word, and Correa is a convicted felon. So. Also, I feel like those allegations would further harm the plausible deniability by the Cards' front office.
  3. W was stupid; Cheney evil I don't think Trump is stupid at all. I think he's equal parts smart and hateful.
  4. 2010 looked like a normal stance and swing, 2012 was a goofy stance but the swing was still fluid. 2012 looks like everything he hits hard he does with natural ability and strength despite his swing. It also looks like he has significantly more power to the opposite field in both videos. The ball just carries off his bat better going oppo.
  5. Ooooh, I forgot Peaky Blinders. Finished season 1 and felt like I was done, gf did not agree. I tried not to watch anymore of it but I failed and it really is an awful, awful show
  6. Quitting Dexter after season 5 (Julia Styles season) was the second-best investment I ever made in my own free time. Quitting Walking Dead after season 1 was by far the best
  7. I've read this 8 times and it still doesn't make sense to me
  8. he was probably afraid of what uptight baseball people would say if he acted happy after giving up the lead. everything about chapman as a player/teammate was fine while he was here. he's a bad person for other reasons. I agree, it would have been horrible for him to look like a good teammate. I'm not saying he wasn't a good teammate during his time here. All I was saying was that reaction stuck with me. Please don't Cutler him
  9. Omg, Yellon's writing is completely embarrassing. That first paragraph alone should be enough to require him to return to 6th grade.
  10. They've probably been waiting for the new CBA to be in place(check) and for free agency to finish to evaluate what the right draft pick punishment is. That reminds me, does the new CBA allow them to keep their competitive balance oick?
  11. Teams expected the penalties to extend into the new CBA (whether the bonus caps remained or a draft was instated) but you're right, some teams might have changed their plans if they knew they'd be restricted from Otani. So yeah, it's incredibly frustrating (and quite frankly, it's very unfair financially to Shohei). The really fucked up thing is that it likely wasn't the owners who wanted to keep Otani out, but the players. They love to take care of their own but don't give a horsefeathers about their future own
  12. That was a really well-written article
  13. If what you're saying here is that your seats are better than joe schmoe thinks they are because of their positioning, I'm riiiiiight there with you. Which is why I want to move to the bleachers. The rubes overpay for those, and when I want to go to a game to actually enjoy it, I'll swap them out for grandstands day of. Yep, I'm with you guys. I have very good 200 level terrace box seats, but people typically won't pay more than they would for terrace reserve 20 rows back. Everyone who we sell tickets to directly seems genuinely surprised when they get to the game and realize how good the seats are. The only thing worse margin-wise is Upper Deck Box. I love upper deck seats, buy I avoided getting Season Tickets there because I know they just don't sell well. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk The mistake I made was that I purchased them because they were great value to ME, and didn't really consider their poor value on the secondary market. Whoops. A move to the bleachers is me reversing those concerns.
  14. He is quite obviously the lawyer from Sunny
  15. can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, any good cook will tell you that BUT LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE COOK
  16. You can't got back to nights and weekends from full season, either. Weird.
  17. I'm in the very front 200s and I struggled to get back face (after fees) for most of the first half of the season. In the second half it picked up and I was profiting nicely on weekend games, at least. Weeknights were still nothing to write home about. Nevermind that the seats are basically the same as the back field boxes. People just don't realize it.
  18. My seats are UD midfield, 7 rows back. This year, I struggled to get face value at re-sale all season. Thinking about moving to the bleachers, as it seems these re-sell a lot better. People with bleachers or UD seats, what do you think? I'll typically go to 25% of the home games and sell the other 25% of my half-share.
  19. I feel like a deal with Baez headlining doesn't do it anymore after this. Schwarber, Baez and Eloy? Too much to give up, but I think that's what it would take. Anyway, this trade feels a lot like Beckett for Hanley+. I really like it for both teams.
  20. Well good luck with that. Sure gives you some insight into how good his organization is at evaluating talent
  21. I wouldn't say the Cubs hit the ball hard against him last game. They had a hard hit ball that ended up being an out (Baez) but otherwise Kershaw thoroughly dominated. Don't forget Rizzo's moon shot that just went foul. It really felt like we got unlucky on balls in play that game. Granted, we didn't put a whole lot in play.
  22. Can someone please link me to instances of racism from Bumgarner? Strickland's is well-known but googling Bumgarner racist just brings links to asinine comments from Dodger fans bumgarner is notorious for jabbering with players who display any sort of joy, many, if not most of which have been the Latin players. It's not overt racism along the lines of a clevenger but combined with his hick persona it's really not hard to put 2 and 2 together. Kinda what I figured. Certainly enough for me
