    you can find plenty of middle infielders that don't have a history of abusing women, and ones that have an OPS of .650. the Cubs have a couple in the minors that would qualify. he's a terrible guy, and he sucks at baseball. i really don't understand why Theo is so attached at the hip with this dude. I think Theo views him as an undervalued asset rather than somebody he's tied to at the hip. I think Theo is being pressured to keep him because Joe Ricketts wants him for political, anti-#metoo reasons

    Oh man, the level to which people in Chicago proper get pissed at people who refer to very nearby suburbs as Chicago cracks me up too. Unless you live in the densest parts of downtown, living in the vast majority of Chicago is no different than living in the nearest suburb. It's all spread out houses, car culture galore, it's the same damn thing with no boundary. Oh man, that is dumb. I hear Chelsea is just like White Plains except on the island. Like one of my friends in the neighborhood has a car and no one lives in a house

    The only real arguments I can think of against this are: 1) Something changed with how much payroll the Ricketts were willing to give Theo between the time he signed Yu and now. If we don't sign him, I believe it's because Theo is in the doghouse for his recent bad signings (Yu, Hey, Chatwood) and is being tasked to fix one or multiple before being allowed to hand Harper 400 mil. Does it make sense that this would be something that changed between re-signing Hamels and now? No, but it's the best thing I can come up with
