  1. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Jerome Williams (4-6, 4.76 ERA) vs. RHP Andrew Good (9-8, 4.85) West Tenn: LHP Chris Shaver (7-8, 2.95 ERA; overall: 7-8, 2.77 ERA) Daytona: LHP Donnie Veal (6-2, 1.82 ERA; overall: 11-5, 2.27 ERA) Peoria: RHP Scott Taylor: (8-8, 3.35 ERA) @ LHP Tyler Norrick (1-2, 3.74 ERA) Boise: RHP Jose Pina (2-5, 5.15 ERA) @ RHP Cesar Valdez (6-4, 3.20 ERA) Mesa: RHP Rafael Dolis? (0-2, 8.22 ERA) Walrond: 133.1 IP, 104 K/59 BB or Williams: 98.1 IP, 45/30 Shaver (West Tenn & Daytona): 146 IP, 113/52 Veal (Daytona & Peoria): 143 IP, 153/76 Taylor: 131.2 IP, 65/23 Pina: 50.2 IP, 21/18 Dolis: 23 IP, 29/15
  2. Daytona back to 0.5 back of St. Lucie. The unearned runs aren't cool, but that was Jake Renshaw's best pro outing. Chris Huseby needs to stop having bad outings. Rafael Dolis is AWOL.
  3. Polls are closed. Sean Gallagher wins the People's Vote!
  4. Sweet! :D
  5. Four hours and 12 minutes left...VOTE OR DIE!
  6. I'm going to the gym and then dinner in West LA, that's probably it for updates until maybe the very end of the Boise game. Hopefully someone can take over for the non-Jaxx games - I think we have a suitable replacement for that one (:D). Also, please vote for the 2006 Minor League Player of the Year. Polls close in a little over 4 hours and Sean Gallagher currently has a 4 vote lead over Donnie Veal.
  7. Iowa is down 3-0 after 2. Wilton Chavez gave up 3 in the first inning. Pie is 0 for 1 with a strikeout. EPatt is 0 for 1. Soto is 0 for 0 with a walk.
  8. Oh, and be ok, Alex Brown.
  9. GO BEARS!
  10. Steve Bronder will start game two for Daytona in what is basically a must-win.
  11. Daytona loses game one 4-2. Phelps takes the loss. They drop to 1.5 back with game two starting in 30 minutes.
  12. How is Donnie dominating competition that is *beneath* him? He's - at age 21 - pitching in the FSL with about 1 year experience at a community college. Sure, Gallagher was more dominant than Veal in BB/K (but not at, say, ERA), but Veal has been more dominant after his promtion than Gallagher has been after his promotion. For those comparing Gallagher and Veal in terms of where they were drafted - don't forget Gallagher was expected to be taken as high as the 3rd round but fell. (Because of signability concerns? UK or someone else can correct me on that one.) Joe_Cub, Pawelek reported to Mesa this spring out of shape and struggled in the spring. That's why he was sent to Boise and not Peoria. I hope he learned his lesson.
  13. Thanks, I updated. If anyone hears who's starting for Daytona in game 2, please let me know.
  14. Exactly why I voted for Veal. Sean's control was a major plus over Veal's. Veal's ability to miss bats and give up few hits was his major plus over Gallagher. Once they were promoted, Veal kept his advantage in missing bats and giving up fewer hits, but Sean's control deteriorated.
  15. It's a guess on my part, since IowaCubs.com insists Jae-Kuk Ryu will be starting.
  16. Standings: PCL American North Nashville 73-60 .549 - Iowa 69-64 .519 4.0 --- 11 games remaining SL North Huntsville 34-25 .576 - Tennessee 34-26 .567 0.5 Chatanooga* 32-28 .533 2.5 West Tenn 29-31 .483 5.5 --- 10 games remaining FSL East St. Lucie* 33-25 .569 - Daytona 33-26 .559 0.5 --- 11 games remaining (including 3 in the next 2 days against St. Lucie) Palm Beach 31-26 .544 1.5 Peoria already clinched a playoff spot by winning the MWL North in the first half. NWL East Boise 36-28 .563 - --- 12 games remaining (including 6 against Tri-City) Tri-City 33-31 .536 3.0 *First-half division winner.
  17. At AAA: 33.2 IP vs. lefties: .279 BAA 90 IP vs. righties: .285 BAA
  18. Polls close at midnight CT tonight.
  19. Poor Donnie pitches the day after the vote. Everyone go vote for the 2006 NSBB Minor League Player of the Year here (Premium). Voting closes at 12 midnight CT and Sean Gallagher right now has a 2 vote lead.
  20. Ryan Harvery didn't leave yesterday's game.
  21. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Wilton Chavez (2-2, 4.98 ERA) vs. RHP Kip Bouknight (1-0, 3.86 ERA) WT: RHP Sean Gallagher (7-3, 2.44 ERA; overall: 11-3, 2.37 ERA) Daytona (game 1): RHP Ryan Bicondoa (1-2, 2.61 ERA) vs. RHP Blake Eager (3-3, 4.09 ERA) Daytona (game 2): ?? Peoria: RHP Todd Blackford (9-8, 5.54 ERA) vs. RHP Trey Hearne (11-3, 2.27 ERA) Boise: RHP Jake Renshaw (0-1, 8.64 ERA; 0-2, 6.44 ERA) Mesa: RHP Rafael Dolis (0-2, 8.22 ERA) Chavez (Iowa & Nashville): 76 IP, 61 K/36 BB Gallagher (West Tenn & Daytona): 152 IP, 154/71 Bicondoa: 31 IP, 35/9 Blackford: 130 IP, 67/56 Renshaw: 29.1 IP, 20/10 Dolis: 23 IP, 29/15
  22. He could be a max-effort guy, but given his IP so far this season, I think he needs to lengthen out. Boise wins it 8-7 in 9. Elvin Puello singled and scored on an E-5 (throwing error) on a grounder off the bat of Steve Clevenger.
  23. Boise and Spokane are tied at 7 in the top of the 9th.
