  2. #4 is actually a big deal because the Cubs are really reticent on promoting from the DSL to the states in-season. He might be the only non-pitcher/catcher in recent years to get promoted mid-season.
  3. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa vs. St. Paul, 7:08 pm Knoxville vs. Chattanooga, 6:00 pm South Bend at West Michigan, 5:35 pm Myrtle Beach at Augusta, 6:05 pm Probable Starting Pitchers: Iowa: RHP Connor Noland (16 IP, 1.69 ERA, 2.85 FIP, 13 K, 5 BB) Knoxville: RHP Chris Kachmar (10 IP, 4.50 ERA, 4.08 FIP, 9, K, 4 BB) South Bend: RHP Nick Dean (4 IP, 4.50 ERA, 4.45 FIP, 6 K, 1 BB) Myrtle Beach: LHP Evan Aschenbeck (9 IP, 0.00 ERA, 2.19 FIP, 13 K, 3 BB)
  4. Leonel Espinoza is 5/5 today (1 HR, 4 singles). OPS up to .970.
  5. Yep, I noticed the same thing. And they’re letting pitchers try to get out of jams as their pitch count gets into the 60s and 70s. And we aren’t the only ones thinking this:
  6. It's been 33 plate appearances since Ballesteros last struck out.
  7. Alexey Lumpuy just hit his first stateside homer.
  8. Cole Mathis hit his first pro HR.
  9. Thinking Wiggins is done at 75 pitches: 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 HR
  10. In the first, Ballesteros walked and Long hit a double to center (109.4 EV, 412 ft - somehow not a home run) but they sandwiched that around all of Triantos, Caissie and Alcantara getting out.
