  2. The Cubs are using biomechanic technology to track Horton so a complete shutdown is unlikely a la rookie Strasburg. Not sure if they’ll do a shutdown and slow ramp up but if they do, they’ll definitely wait till after the deadline. I think more likely is a shift to the bullpen for like 2-inning stints once or twice a week.

  4. With the ACL season over, hopefully Edgardo de León and Ronny Cruz go to Myrtle Beach instead of just waiting for instructs/bridge camp.
  5. FYI - Pipeline only adjusted most team's top 10s or 15s and just dropped everyone else down the list accordingly so it's not a full fledged update.

  7. Sure seems like he's a polarizing prospect, which you can see with him still not being a top 25 prospect in any major publication, despite his pedigree. Clearly the Marlins love him (and it sounds like the Royals like him) but it sounds like the Twins don't care for him.
  8. Kaemyn Franklin got $200k. Logan Poteet got $180k. Cubs still have about $33k if they have anyone to use it on.
  9. Kevin Alcántara back in the Iowa lineup.

  11. I think it's because every AAA stadium now has Statcast data, cameras, etc, so opposing teams can far more easily and efficiently see every minor leaguers flaws and exploit it immediately in the majors. Caissie has a 30% K rate at AAA, it's going to be really ugly when he first comes up and I wouldn't be shocked if he takes over a year to become playable in the bigs (but I do think a Kyle Stowers-like profile eventually would materialize). The hope is Tucker re-signs next year and you have 4 established OFers and DHs. As I sad earlier, I think Caissie will need a lot of major league runway to become a productive big leaguer and he wouldn't get that if Tucker is re-signed. If he doesn't play in the big leagues, his trade value will diminish. Flipping Caissie for a controllable SP is the best way to manage assets. Replacing Happ's production in 2027 won't be hard in free agency/trade and you'd hope one of Conrad and Kepley prove themselves as worthy of getting into the same discussion as Caissie is now.
