  1. He's the only Cubs representative.
  2. Today is the signing deadline (5 pm CT): Not getting my hopes up for McLain.

  5. Not my dream scenario... Not by a long shot, but if Harper got traded somewhere and then we ended up signing him during the offseason we wouldn't lose a draft pick (which is always nice). I'd rather see the Dodgers miss the playoffs. Dodgers are gonna win their division...by several games. I'm honestly shocked they weren't leading the division by the 4th of July.
  6. Oscar de la Cruz just set a new career high for innings pitched at 77.1, topping his 2014 of 75 and 2015 of 73.
  7. At this point, I have to think they need to amputate Nico's pinky.
  8. Kelvin Herrera certainly would be a nice deadline pickup but he’s nowhere near my dreams.
  9. So Trent Giambrone has 3 homers today and is tied for the SL lead with 14. The Cubs seemingly have an endless supply of potential bat-first utility guys in the upper levels (Bote, Short, Giambrone, Vimael Machin). All were drafted in the 10th round or later.
  10. The Dodgers first round pick isn’t signing and is headed to college:
  11. Well, we know who is starting for AZL Cubs 1.
  12. Jared Young was the June Minor League Player of the Month. Duncan robinson was the June Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
  13. So far so good, in regards to the AZL box score magic. Knew it was too good to be true: https://www.thecubreporter.com/comment/259577#comment-259577

  17. He hurt his pinky that day. No word on the severity.
  18. Seems like most of those in the industry aren't ranking Amaya #1 yet: And an FYI, since we're talking about our top 10s, BA has their midseason list coming out in the next week:
  19. Weird pet peeve of mine. Like 25% of "robbed home runs" were actually going out. This one was going out. Earlier in the week, he did rob a non-HR.
  20. Thanks for putting that together. I had a feeling there has been more 6-figure bonuses than usual after the 10th round. Even a couple of bonuses that affect the bonus pool, which isn’t a frequent occurrence.
  21. I like Short but don’t think he’s anywhere near a top 5 prospect. His K% has gone up 10% this season without an increase in BB% and only a .020 increase in SLG. He was way more interesting when he’d walk as much as he struck out with similar SLG numbers. Tyler Thomas is a college lefty who works in the upper 80s and is doing well in the MWL. That’s not a top 10 prospect even in this system.
