  1. Wacha obviously had better velocity but also had a plus changeup. It’s a good pick, it’s good value, it’s just not sexy. Admittedly there’s a lot of high ceiling volatility in the backfields and Myrtle Beach so a bit of safety isn’t the end of the world.
  2. Not a big Madden fan either but he’s better than Fabian or Wicks.

  4. Really annoyed that non-Cub NL Central teams are picking UCLA Bruins in the first round.
  5. Seattle gets Ford who was my favorite somewhat realistic option for the Cubs.
  6. I don’t think so. Leiter (soph) and Lawler (draft eligible again as a sophomore) have leverage. The Mets and Nats have been willing to go over slot for talent. And we’re bound to get some weird picks with next to no season last year, no college summer leagues last year and many states starting their prep seasons very late this year. The Pirates and O’s definitely went below slot, hope the Royals did too.
  7. Orioles going Orioles: https://twitter.com/kevin_goldstein/status/1414367299587481601?s=21 Royals pick a guy who was generally ranked in the 30s.
  8. Every year, we put up a new thread for draft day. Post everything in here and I’ll lock the other thread. I will update this OP with the Cubs’ actual picks as they are made. This year, there'll be 20 rounds and the Cubs pick 21st in the first round. The Cubs bonus pool for the 2021 draft is $6,779,400, the 7th smallest pool in the draft. 9. Pretty encouraging start for Estrada but he tired in the 3rd and his defense/the reliever after him failed him so he’ll have an ugly line.
  10. Lol, you knew that was impossible.
  11. Brennen Davis named Futures Game MVP.
  12. Callis/Mayo mock: https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/mock-draft-who-will-be-selected-tonight.html
  13. Hussey's a really good add to this possible 1B pipeline UCLA has (Toglia, Schwartz) going on ------- This draft is confusing, please hurry up and be over so we might see some trades! Hussey is going to WVU. Another prep making it to Westwood but no surprise here, considering his TJS:
  14. Futures Game starts at 2 CT on MLB Network. Brennen is starting. Hopefully Manny Rodríguez gets in and we can see a few 100s.
  15. BA keeps giving the Cubs McGreevy. This might be their final mock unless they hear major changes up top.
