  1. Howard had a single and then this:
  2. Herz’ final line: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 57-36 pitches-strikes
  3. The guy who stole 2nd and 3rd is Greg Jones, one of Tampa’s better prospects. Thanks for the velo readings.
  4. Herz struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced in a hitless and scoreless first.
  5. Hope Koen Moreno’s injury isn’t serious, especially after he missed last season.
  6. Curtis Mead, Greg Jones, Blake Hunt, Kameron Misner. You missed Taj Bradley who was their SP yesterday and probably is Tampa’s best pitching prospect in the minors.
  7. Piñango being outclassed by a better prospect (a former top 10 pick!) doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the potential to be a good big leaguer. Also, not shocking he isn’t as strong as someone 9 months older. Especially after an offseason he likely couldn’t life due to arm injury.
  8. Scheduled Game (All Times Central): Iowa vs Toledo, 7:08 pm Tennessee at Montgomery, 6:35 pm South Bend at Ft Wayne, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach vs Augusta, 6:05 pm Iowa: RHP Caleb Kilian Tennessee: RHP Ryan Jensen South Bend: LHP DJ Herz Myrtle Beach: LHP Luke Little
  9. Wicks’ final line: 3.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K
  10. Wicks up to 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K on 51 pitches. Hoping he’s got another inning in him. PCA with a leadoff double for Myrtle Beach. Got thrown out trying to stretch it to a triple. Piñango home run!
  11. Wicks works around a 2-out error for a 3 K first inning (including striking out Robert Hassell III).
  12. 13. Brennen went 2/4 with a double but 2 more Ks. The double just missed going out in dead center: Anderson Espinoza at AA: 2.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K Luis Devers at A: 3.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
  14. Scheduled Game (All Times Central): Iowa vs Toledo, 6:38 pm Tennessee at Montgomery, 6:35 pm South Bend at Ft Wayne, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach vs Augusta, 5:35 pm South Bend: LHP Jordan Wicks Myrtle Beach: RHP Luis Devers
  15. Kevin Alcántara walk-off single in the 12th:
  16. Palencia hit 100; the start after Franklin did.
  17. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa vs Toledo, 6:38 pm Tennessee at Montgomery, 6:35 pm South Bend at Ft Wayne, 5:35 pm Myrtle Beach vs Augusta, 6:05 pm South Bend: RHP Daniel Palencia Myrtle Beach: RHP Porter Hodge
  18. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa at Buffalo, 12:05 pm Tennessee vs. Charlotte, 1:00 pm South Bend vs Quad Cities, 1:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Charleston, 4:05 pm Iowa: RHP Cory Abbott Tennessee: RHP Riley Thompson South Bend: RHP Kohl Franklin Myrtle Beach: RHP Richard Gallardo
