Not like the Cubs let most of their drafted pitchers into box score games the year they’re drafted so he won’t be *too* far behind.
-
He went to the combine so Wiggins is guaranteed 75% of slot, so the most they can save is $275,250.

Jaxon Wiggins, RHP, Arkansas - had TJS

Heh, made a similar edit.

Nico was drafted in 2018, when that core still had 3 playoff games to go. We’re playing semantics with that “core falling apart” but they’ve only drafted two hitters in the first round since 2018.

Too much prep pitching for my risk tolerance but they are drafting to their strengths. I prefer Seattle, Detroit and Cincinnati’s draft so far but Seattle and Cincinnati aren’t fair since they up to 3 picks.

Agreed. At best, it’s a small haircut of like $500k but he’s been mocked generally in the 8-15 area.
-
Well, 2 of the big 7 were right.
-
He’s not exciting (but Wicks wasn’t either). Hopefully they do fun stuff later tonight.
-
Poor Dollander going to a backwards pitching organization when he needed to go to a forward-thinking one.
-
ESPN. Kiley is way better than Harold and MLB doesn’t send it to Callis enough to make up the gap.
-
So after all that, the top 5 guys do indeed go in the top 5.
