  1. Horton with his longest outing of the year. Hope the Cubs are ready to bump him to Iowa (or the Cubs considering the Wicks news):
  2. Juan Bello: 14.2 IP, 1.84 ERA, 21 K, 9 BB His K/9 fell today to 12.88 K/9 since he only got 4 Ks in 4 innings.
  3. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa at Buffalo, 12:05 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm South Bend vs. Quad Cities, 3:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Lynchburg, 5:30 pm Probable Starters: Tennessee: RHP Cade Horton (11.1 IP, 1.59 ERA, 3.48 FIP, 12 K, 2 BB) South Bend: RHP Luis Devers (8.2 IP, 3.12 ERA, 4.83 FIP, 7 K, 8 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Juan Bello (10.2 IP, 2.53 ERA, 3.45 FIP, 17 K, 8 BB)
  4. Steele had a rehab appearance and Jaxon Wiggins had his second live BP (he was apparently shut down for 3 weeks between the two live BPs):
  5. Alfonsin Rosario went 0/3 with 2 Ks in his Myrtle Beach debut.
  6. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa at Buffalo, 5:05 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm South Bend vs. Quad Cities, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Lynchburg, 5:30 pm Probable Starters: Tennessee: RHP Richard Gallardo (12.2 IP, 5.68 ERA, 3.59 FIP, 11 K, 3 BB) South Bend: LHP Drew Gray (8 IP, 2.25 ERA, 4.71 FIP, 14 K, 11 BB) Myrtle Beach: LHP Marino Santy (9 IP, 4.00 ERA, 4.53 FIP, 9 K, 8 BB)
  7. I don't know what a Matt Wilkinson is but he's struck out all 6 Pelicans so far including Alfonsin Rosario in his full season debut (MiLB.com is insisting on calling Rosario "Branden Noreiga").
  8. Brennen had a single to left in his first at bat. Teheran is generally working 88-89 and looks really unimpressive.
  9. Also Alfonsin Rosario is making his full season debut for Myrtle Beach, playing CF and batting fifth.
  10. Julio Teheran gets the start in game one for Iowa. Brody McCullough gets the start for South Bend. Luis Rujano gets the start for Myrtle Beach. Mason McGwire to the Developmental List.
  11. It’s worth noting Myrtle Beach is one of the best pitcher’s parks throughout the minors.
  12. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa at Buffalo (game one), 3:35 pm Iowa at Buffalo (game two), TBD Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm South Bend vs. Quad Cities, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Lynchburg, 5:30 pm Probable Starters: Iowa (game one): RHP Julio Teheran Tennessee: RHP Matt Thompson (8 IP, 1.13 ERA, 3.55 FIP, 10 K, 3 BB) South Bend: RHP Brody McCullough (2.2 IP, 0.00 ERA, 4.46 FIP, 2 K, 2 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Luis Rujano (2.1 IP, 7.71 ERA, 0.86 FIP, 5 K, 1 BB)
  13. Will Sanders with his best start of his pro career: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K
  14. Cristian Hernández hit a double to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.
  15. Alcántara: 2/5, K, 2B - .820 OPS Shaw: 0/3, BB, K - .929 OPS Triantos: 1/4, 2B - .861 OPS Ballesteros: 2/4, HR - .924 OPS Birdsell finally had a good outing: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K Zac Leigh is probably ready for the AAA bullpen.
  16. Wiggins has been throwing live BP sessions in Arizona since March. Hopefully he gets into Extended ST games soon but the ACL starts in early May. My hope is he gets into ACL games starting in May or June for an inning or two per week and ends the season up in Myrtle Beach.
  17. Scheduled Game (Central Time): Iowa at Buffalo, 5:05 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 1:05 pm South Bend vs. Quad Cities, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Lynchburg, 5:30 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Chris Clarke (14 IP, 1.29 ERA, 4.67 FIP, 8 K, 8 BB) Tennessee: RHP Brandon Birdsell (8.2 IP, 9.35 ERA, 7.05 FIP, 9 K, 6 BB) South Bend: RHP Will Sanders (3.2 IP, 22.09 ERA, 10.03 FIP, 4 K, 5 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Mason McGwire or RHP Nick Dean
  18. Cristian Hernández is up to a .917 OPS while striking out 14.3% and walking 10.2% of the time this season. He’ll be 20 all season.
