I sure do. Long is the only longterm option in place and probably the only guy on the line now that I'd like to see on the line in 2016. Bushrod helped stabilize things but I think he was vastly overpaid and probably only a short-term guy. They need at least one tackle and one interior linemen. Outside of Long everybody is either bad, old or bad and old. I agree. The OL as a unit has been noticeably worse, at least from what I've seen. It obviously hasn't been deep enough with Ola not a sufficient 6th guy (although at least on the interior DLP is so that's frustrating). And most of the starting 5 weakness is from one spot. Bushrod, Long, Slausson, and even Garza have played well enough but an OL is unfortunately only as good as their weakest guy and I guess they just went away from protecting Mills as much as they did last year. That may be what they are stuck doing, but think about what you are advocating with those first two picks. Two more picks allotted to the defense after that side got the top three this year and two of the top three the year before. The Bears have used one top 3 round draft pick on an offensive skill position player in the past 5 drafts and that is going to come back and bite them eventually. They have a declining Marshall, a nice but limited Jeffery, a consistent but unspectacular Forte, garbage at tight end and a declining Cutler. There is zero explosiveness on the offensive side of the ball. No big threats. The offense is basically limited to bullying their way down the field with big receivers and no hope of the homerun. That takes time and allows a defense to adjust and take chances that will not be exploited, and that leads to turnovers. Yea it's a concern. As of about a week ago I wanted a RT and BDPA in rd one and two. So I could still go that route. Depending on what a FA OL looks like it could be just as good as a pick. I think it's possible to get two years out of any three of Bushrod, Slauson, and DLP. Getting all three to produce for two years is unlikely but also is needing all three or even two spots in 2016. I have no idea what they have in Leno, but hopefully they get another mid round development type this draft. Even if say Bushrod is gone from 2016 they can still be in a position to grow from within on the OL. It's an uphill battle but not unlike what most teams face. It's a constant race against attrition. I do think we're about 2 years away from being in the position of sweet Comp picks and resigning our own guys instead of looking in FA, but there's no "unwinding" as Kyle implies. Just more adding. Mid round speed WR, FA OG/OT, resign DLP, two starting FA DBs (pretty good class), mid tier June 1 LB and best two defensive players in round one and two. If one of those two isn't a pass rusher that may be another June 1 need. New coaching staff. On the player front that's no more active than we've had to be the past several years. I don't see the same pessimism as you Kyle. We aren't looking for wide scale changes from a talent perspective, there's still a good base. While players can take some of the blame for coverage gaffs, it's largely a coaching issue to remedy. There are some needs but mainly complimentary on O. I don't see the need for two new OL. On defense one or two impact guys in the front seven can transform it. While it is a lot to do, I don't see us at a crossroads where we have to reboot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good points regarding things being different under George. I still think a change with the assistants at this point comes from Trestman. If Emery feels the need to go over his head to make the change at DC now he might as well clean out Trrestman too. So I think it would be an all or nothing prop at this point. I will say if you're gonna can Emery though you gotta hope for it to go even past that. Maybe let Phillips move into a role likevKenney has for the Cubs, and bring in a president of football operations. Get a guy who has past success and will hire a full staff from GM to HC.

And I joked about it, but I'm still about 70% sure Williams return was related only to exhaustion and disinterest. I don't think Trestman will be given a choice. My guess is ownership will be leaning fairly hard on Emery, and as we know, isht runs down hill. This isn't a Jerry Jones ownership. They're extremely hands off. Based solely on NFL precedent week 15 or so would seem to be the sweet spot to expect change.

Well from Trestman's perspective, the potential net gain to his job security from his team scoring some garbage time points is not worth the potential disaster of one of his highly paid offensive stars suffering a serious injury during meaningless football. What's the disaster if Marshall has a hammy or twisted ankle or whatever? So what if he misses a couple weeks? Or hell, the season. There's nothing to protect him for. I don't think it's a big deal to leave in the starters but it could definitely end up worse than a hammy. An ACL tear impacts most of your offseason unless you're Adrian Peterson.
