  1. I think we'll see early on if he's worried about re-injury and holding back. It seems to have affected every part of his game, not just the running.

Either he's a [expletive] or his knee is/was much worse than they are letting on.

Why didn't they just do this in July and give him a few more months to rest and rehab?

Granted, you could make the argument that he wasn't helping much with the season he was having...

  2. This should be pretty damn cool...

Secaucus, N.J. - MLB Network today announced that Chicago White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, General Manager Ken Williams and Manager Ozzie Guillen will be featured in The Club, an original reality series produced for MLB Network by MLB Productions that will air this summer. As a follow up to 2009's The Pen featuring the Philadelphia Phillies' bullpen, The Club will follow Reinsdorf, Williams and Guillen with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to a Major League Baseball club's front office. The Club is scheduled to premiere on MLB Network on Sunday, July 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Throughout each episode, The Club will focus on the realities and challenges both on and off the field for the men who run one of MLB's most storied franchises. Beginning this month through to the Trade Deadline on July 31, MLB Productions' cameras will capture footage at The Club's Spring Training camp in Arizona, during roster meetings, on Opening Day, on the road for away games and to get a look at Reinsdorf, Williams and Guillen away from the ballpark. The series will also feature personnel who work within the front office, including Assistant General Manager Rick Hahn, Pitching Coach Don Cooper and Batting Coach Greg Walker.

"The success of The Pen last season showed that fans want to learn more about their favorite teams, players and managers on and off the field," said Tony Petitti, president and CEO of MLB Network. "This season we'll give fans unprecedented access to one of the most dynamic managers and front office staffs in Major League Baseball."

"The core of our baseball operations staff has been together now for many years," said Ken Williams, White Sox general manager. "The White Sox can be described pretty accurately as a family, even down to the unique relationships we all enjoy with one another. We understand that fans want a glimpse inside a baseball club's front office, want to see how decisions are made and want to watch as a spring training roster comes together to form a team. We hope The Club provides that type of insight into the White Sox this summer for baseball fans."

The Club is produced by MLB Productions. Gary Waksman is the Lead Producer, Robert Haddad is the Coordinating Producer, and David Check is the Executive Producer. Throughout production, Haddad will post video blogs following each shoot to the MLB Productions website.

"It's our goal to come up with new ways to give fans behind-the-scenes access to Major League Baseball clubs and its players," said David Gavant, Executive in charge of Production and Vice President, MLB Productions. "With The Club, our second reality-based series, we will give viewers an exclusive look into the daily lives of the White Sox front office staff both on and off the field."

The Club is the fifth series produced for MLB Network by MLB Productions, following Prime 9, Baseball Seasons, Triumph & Tragedy and The Pen.

    Don't have a link yet.

  3. Really? There were 2 fantastic playoff victories from the Bears that season. Those don't mean much to you?

    Can't go with you there.

I don't think anyone outside of Chicago would've called the NFC championship game a classic. It wasn't that competitive save for a stretch in the 3rd quarter and Rex was pretty awful.

I'm probably short changing the Seattle game a bit. That was a good one. But the games I was talking about were utter insanity. The MNF game is still one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen in sports.

Edit: Coming back to win from a 20 point half time deficit without scoring an offensive touchdown plus Denny's classic meltdown. For a regular season game, it had it all.

Blowouts in my team's favor > winning close ones

But yea, the MNF game was obviously one of the most incredible games of all time...I remember so much of that game and of what I was doing while watching it.

The first playoff victory wasn't all that fantastic. It was an escape and it was a pretty ugly game outside of the fact that we won.

That said, that whole season was awesome. I have tons of great memories of the regular season and of the Saints game.

We had a really good game last night in Chicago. We were on fire from the start and we really jumped on those guys good. We didn’t hard miss a shot in that first quarter, getting lobs, hitting 3-pointers and cuts to the rim.

The only bad thing about that night was that my boy, Derrick Rose, got hurt when he collided with me at the rim. I saw the replay and he really hit hard on his butt and hip. I went over to him and asked him if he was OK and he said he was.

Some dudes after the game asked me if it was a dirty play and I just had to laugh. Apparently they don’t see some of the hits that I take every night down there.

With D-Rose driving to the hoop, it was just his momentum and my momentum that caused that to happen. It wasn’t like I caught him real hard and he went down. It was just momentum and when he hit the Man of Steel he went down. He should know he can’t tug on Superman’s cape. Just kidddin’.

D-Rose is a really good guy. We spent a lot of time together last summer when we went to China as part of an Adidas trip. We spent a lot of time talking and really built a good relationship. He’s such a good dude.

I just told him that he’s off to a really good start to his career and to stay on track. You can already see how he’s such a good leader for that team. He does it by example instead of being a rah-rah talker. I like that ‘cause that’s the way I try to lead.

I really think he’s got a good chance to make the Olympic team in 2012 and go with us to London and try and get another gold. I gotta thank Mr. Colangelo for putting me on the team again. I had so much fun on that 2008 team and winning gold in China that I knew I wanted to play again if I could. Hopefully we can bring home another gold for good ol’ USA.

  6. Prognosis on Rose positive as All-Star guard heads to Dallas

The Bulls released the following statement regarding Derrick Rose's injury sustained during Wednesday's game versus the Orlando Magic on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 12:06 p.m. CT:

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose left last night’s game versus the Orlando Magic with a bruised right hip at the 9:36 mark of the first quarter. Rose hit the floor following a foul by Orlando center Dwight Howard.

Rose underwent an MRI on his low back and right hip last night at the Rush University Medical Center. The results were consistent with the fall and showed no significant injury to the hip or low back. He will be re-examined in Dallas, Texas on Saturday by Bulls team physician Dr. Brian Cole of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

“X-rays so far were negative,” Bulls Head Athletic Trainer Fred Tedeschi said after the game. “I won’t say we completely ruled out a fracture, but it looks unlikely at this point. If there’s not a great deal of inflammation, I think we can be optimistic. If there are some things going on we’ll have to deal with that.”

  7. Any interest in Antonio Bryant if he doesn't wind up costing something absurd?

The one year in his career in which he had a decent QB throwing to him (Garcia) he blew up. If you look at the rest of his career, it's a more depressing list than the Bears QBs.
