    it pains me that i agree with you this much even though i think the perception that players don't want to come here is a bit overblown...a lot of circumstances that would've been tough to overcome for any team have kept us from getting the big guys we've gone after. but yeah, i think it would help. wade is one of those guys around the league.

    28-28 since Javy's walk off. Over 1/3 of the season. Sorry I have to keep posting this. Silly stat because they started that run at 23-14 which is a 101 win pace over a season. The only part where we've been less than awesome is the current 5-14 run. oh damnit why do i never read ahead

    i'm much more confused than i am worried. baseball is weird but it's been a long time since i've seen this drastic of a slump or whatever is going on with our pitching right now.

    And 5-14 in their last 19. Horrid. 28-28 since Javy's walk off. Over 1/3 of the season. why would you bring this up in response to a post saying they're 5-14 in their last 19? (this is actually better than it feels like, is that weird? like i feel better after reading that)...it means they were 23-14 in the other games and you're trying to present it like they've been mediocre for 1/3 of the season. very strange. you're not the first poster or person i've seen do this.

    Uhh is there a disgruntled player we released like two or three weeks ago who told everyone some secret to figure out what pitches we're throwing or something

    i hope he at least goes out there and gets to take in the experience. the game itself is whatever anyway.

    I don't remember anyone saying that Rondo was slow. But he's a point guard whose best attribute is being able to push the ball and he's been surrounded by old, slow guys. What is his role going to be in the half court offense? How will this team generate the spacing to allow him to penetrate? Aside from Rondo himself and Wade, who are you referring to as an old guy? Taj?

    Between what they're gonna think of what Riley did to Wade and how horrific they are going to be, nobody is going to Miami. Feel free to pull that up if I'm wrong.

    otoh he has not graded out well there this year at all i'd much rather see almora in there, esp vs the lhp One thing I've come to notice is that I look at defensive stats very, very different from other posters here. I don't believe in single season sample sizes for defense, let alone chunks of a single season getting extrapolated out with the /150 stat. The developer of UZR stated 2+ seasons, big and multi year samples, so I lean heavily in that direction. Thrown in that his UZR is all of -.4 anyway, he makes the routine plays, and I can't sweat the small stuff. Overall as a ML he's done well out there, I trust and belee in that now and moving forward. well it's not like i don't think he's competent. i just mentioned he hasn't graded out well. between that and his hitting, liriano, and the fact that almora has looked amazing in the field, i'd rather see him playing tonight.

    yeah i honestly had no idea what the [expletive] he was talking about at first either nor would i have made the reference since i don't think i've watched more than 5 minutes of south park in total in my life. This has to be an age thing. I'm guessing you guys are probably 10 years or so older than me, which means you would have been adults when South Park was really popular. i'm 33 and i'm pretty sure south park was really popular when i was in like high school.

    I'm in the process of re-watching Breaking Bad. I flipped on the Full Measure episode last night before I went to sleep when we were still down 2-0. Had no idea any of the rest happened.

    rajon rondo actually hit 3's at a decent clip the last two seasons...who knew?
