  1. Not sure why I didn't just look it up myself in the first place. Last night got as low as 1.9%. 08 game got to 0.2% https://www.fangraphs.com/wins.aspx?date=2008-09-18&team=Cubs&dh=0&season=2008 Fun fact - I left this game early to beat the rush to the train and I found out good things were happening from hearing the crowd from the train platform. Saw on my phone when they tied it. Made it home in time to catch the extras on TV.
  2. Was win probability lower last night or in the comeback against the Brewers in September 08?
  3. I really don't care about Milwaukee; when I saw "the season" I'm talking about the end result in the playoffs, not whether or not they make it. This is kind of the point here. We have reached them point where playoffs are a given, making it to the NLCS is a very familiar place and only a WS appearance can be looked at as “success.” For me, that’s a pretty good place to be. If you genuinely believe that the playoffs are a crapshoot, you’re pretty happy this year. They may not have the talent to walk into the playoffs favoured, but they are walking in. And with this monster offends, anything can happen. that's like saying "if you genuinely believe the earth is a sphere" so, yeah, just make the playoffs, which they probably will
  4. ... my decision to attend a Kanye concert instead of a Cubs playoff game, by David. I was never going to attend the Cubs playoff game. I didn't have tickets to it. I was getting horsefeathers for not watching it on TV over going to a concert I got tickets for damn near a year in advance.
  5. That was a ball. But usually called a strike on the umps stupid 3-0 count zones Ah. I'm just going off what coomer is saying
  6. How in the horsefeathers have we not scored in this inning? What the horsefeathers??
  7. Pretty sure I remember this game. Was it against the expos in September?
  8. looks like he was 43 when he got shot, which was 24 years ago... so 67ish edit - lol wiki has his actual age... 68
  9. yeah you're right there's nothing "really bad" about our best offensive player being out indefinitely with shoulder soreness that plagued him for a good chunk of the year. Him being out is a bad situation but they’ve done two MRIs and have said there’s really nothing wrong. It’s just soreness he has to get over it. It’s annoying and sucks but it doesn’t seem like it’s really that bad or could be that bad of an injury other than the time it’s taking to get over it. Bad news would be surgery , he has to make career altering swing change, shut down for the year etc. to me. yeah...if the playoffs were next week, i have little doubt he'd be playing. but given that the team is in a good position and can afford to let him rest it indefinitely to err on the side of caution and get the soreness to subside as much as possible, the timeline doesn't really concern me as long as he gets a week or two of regular season games in before the playoffs.
  10. There's no "really bad" news coming on this. Theo already said last week that most of the pain has been successfully treated and is only being felt at the extreme ends of his range of motion. Worst case IMO is something like they'll say horsefeathers it and he'll play the last few weeks + the playoffs with whatever lingering issue there is. I don't see how or why they'd suddenly say he needs surgery or something and shut him down for the season. yeah you're right there's nothing "really bad" about our best offensive player being out indefinitely with shoulder soreness that plagued him for a good chunk of the year. to me when you say "really bad news" that means out for the rest of this season, surgery, possibly career altering, etc.
  11. Bryant said today he still had no idea when he would play or begin a rehab assignment. There's no "really bad" news coming on this. 12. i'm glad i'm not one of these sickos
  13. and his afternoon drive radio card (it actually has been pulled many times and for some reason they keep giving it back)
  14. consider me shocked that this old dumbass has this dumb take [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. The derby really horsefeathers his swing up Javy too
  16. man, i was just thinking that between getting to see the bulls dynasty (and at the age i saw it at) and then seeing the cubs win that world series and the way they did it, i am pretty horsefeathering well set for life as far as sports fan stuff goes. Plus you got to see that Kanye concert. Amazing horsefeathering show
  17. well, harper has been on average about a 5.3 win player per full season of his career, so 70% of that would be a 3.7 win player which is pretty good
  18. Ah, I miss watching Ken Griffey Jr. (in his prime) hit, but what's the point in mentioning it lol. Also, Ichiro when he first came over was something else. Manny was a great hitter, but I never felt that awe-inspired watching him hit. manny was a goofy horsefeathers who, to steal from your old sig, approached an at bat like mozart while everyone else was salieri

  20. The comparisons that I heard are more like a healthy Bryant rather than Schwarber. he doesn't walk nearly enough to warrant such a comp
  21. we're already long past the point of people praising cost benefit analyses over teams actually trying to win more than other teams, and criticizing fans who would rather watch teams try to win. i mean, good on milwaukee for trying to win, but if thinking they're stupid for trading more for their haul of crap than it probably would've taken to get manny machado (i haven't really looked into it but i'm gonna go with that) = said cost benefit analysis, i guess i'm guilty here but i generally agree with what you're saying
  22. Eloy is jorge 2.0, now with fewer walks (no but seriously i'm just saying if he's going to be some great player he's gonna have to hit a hell of a lot to make up for probably being a bad defender at a not so valuable position)
