    On another note, Rex wins NFC Player of the Week :D http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=2829 I'm happy for him...He couldn't have rebounded from all the criticism any better.

I suppose this adds another twist to our debate from before about whether Posey was really doing anything that harmed Tank. :wink:

    Turns out Johnson's guns were all legally registered in AZ, where he's a legal resident. Looks like the charges might be dropped, and what originally happened (the raid and the results) really weren't as big a deal as they were originally made out to be. Big difference between legally acquiring guns and getting them off the street.     How is that even possible?? The Blackhawks were in the playoffs for a bunch of years in a row before that finally ended 7 or 8 years ago. They were definitely a stron gteam in the early 90's. The Bulls obviously were. Were the Bears never above .500 at any moment while the other two were during those years? Weren't they a playoff team in 91? Were they ever any good from 90-93?? I have no proof, but that just seems like it can't be right (aside from the fact that the Hawks aren't really above .500 right now). It was 1995 Makes a lot more sense... Thanks EDIT - The Cubs were above .500 in 1995 too...(although that wouldn't exactly apply since we're talking about all teams being .500 at the same time)..

    I'm sure you're right. I didn't even figure it (still haven't), just assumed it after a quick look at their totals.

    I don't think the Eagles' defense is nearly as good as it has been in past years. But, they do bring a lot of pressure, which is the one biggest thing that has caused Grossman to struggle. The Eagles aren't what they were with McNabb, but Andy Reid is a great coach, Jim Johnson is a great defensive coordinator and they manage to win even with some really good players out of the lineup. If I were a Bears fan I'd rather play another team like the Giants or Falcons, because those teams don't rush the passer as well and they aren't nearly as well-coached. Exactly my thinking.

    I voted just now, and it showed Manning at 42% of the vote, Grossman at 34. His numbers are definitely better. Manning definitely had a good week too, just not as good as Rex. I'm okay with the Bears being underrated, as long as people shut up when they're the last ones standing in Miami. Eh, in truth, Manning's numbers last night were probably better.. same amount of completions in fewer attempts, 4 TD's to Rex's 2... On the other hand, Rex did have a better yardage total and yards/attempt. Good to see that Rex is slowly catching up, though. He only had 32% earlier.

    Appearently. And with the monumental loss of Tank Johnson our team will simply fall to pieces, unable to even imagine winning a playoff game. Don't forget RMJ and Hester will be their starting corners in the playoffs will certainly help make the team fall to pieces. It's ok, I like that the team will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. The Bears wish they lost 4 more games this year, that would mean they'd be on a relative hot streak by winning late in the season, and proving themselves against other near .500 teams. At 12-2, their record in the past 7 games is just 5-2, worse than their overall record. If they were, let's say, 8-6, and won 4 of their last 7, that would mean they would be on a hot streak, compared to their first 7 games, when they were just 4 of 7. Winning 3 in a row is not impressive when you've won 7 in a row already this season. 3 in a row would be really good though if you had lost 3 in a row at one point as well. Philly must play Dallas this week, so one of those clubs is going to be coming out the new ESPN golden child, and the other will now be "finished" or at least no longer the latest hot commodity. I hate to say this, but go Cowboys (and Falcons, I guess?).... I hate Jeff Garcia... and Philly's defense scares me more than the Giants' or Falcons' entire team.

    I'm glad to hear that. If they make it clear to Tank this is his absolute last chance, then I think we can all be satisfied if he still won't clean up and we need to let him go. Looks like they might not let him play the rest of the year. I know of few, if any, other franchises that would so seriously hamper their chances at a championship. Well, the prevailing speculation that I've heard is that they'll deactivate him for the rest of the regular season, and that he very well could be back for the first playoff game.

    Just started reading it.. Not liking what I'm hearing so far... Already talking about being "up there" in stolen bases and giving the green light. Gotta love giving away outs... EDIT - FWIW, I do like the approach with regard to Prior and Wood (but that's not something we didn't already know), and I like that he recognized the big problem with our pitchers (too many walks).

    I'm joining this party kind of late, but is someone suggesting that Glendon Rusch is a better option in the rotation than Rich Hill?? EDIT - I should probably add that this was meant as a joke since I probably wont be around to defend myself later....

Amazing that he's had more really good games than any QB in the league, but his bad ones are so bad that they seem to completely overshadow that.

    I saw that little segment on The OT where he was criticizing Grossman. It was some funny stuff. The guy definitely has some problems with the Bears and Chicago as well as Grossman in general. It's not a surprise to me that Buck would say that the Eagles have a better chance in the NFC than the Bears. I definitely think that he is a closet Eagles fan. I definitely think he's a closet something.

    I don't think it's wanting to kiss his ass as much as it's them wanting to burn all bridges with Sammy. Sad. There's no reason they can't ask him to take another number. This organization has no class.
