  1. Nothing = a small bummer LHRP = fine good SP = good RP and good SP = great
  2. Contreras's desire to backhand pitches in the dirt is confusing
  3. you found that picture and posted it in one minute
  4. He can be Clark's secretary Have you ever seen Clark and Dempster in the same place?
  5. I think Garlin only came back because he was so wasted he forgot to actually do the promo/announcement he was there to do.
  6. Dempster for an entire game over 1 inning of Garlin.
  7. btw, Edwards really does have some deception or effective velocity on that fastball, I've never seen so many hitters that look straight fooled by a 95 mph 4 seamer
  8. This would actually be kinda brilliant if it were some type of Harry/Maddon mashup.
  9. I have recited the Ferrell SNL bit in its entirety on more than one occasion so maybe I'm not the person to judge, but this is bad
  10. Szczur is probably getting DFA'd by September, but he looks a lot like a Reed Johnson-esque lefty masher
  11. Contreras is going to infuriate opposing fans so much
  12. https://www.facebook.com/Cubs/videos/10154122285320659/
  13. Perez gonna get get that 3rd time thru the order penalty in spades if that inning is any indication
  14. Ryan Rua was a freshman at my high school when I was a senior. Really weird to think that he became a major leaguer when at the time I don't think he was particlarly good on the Freshman baseball team.
  15. Well yes, I suppose if Correa jumps from being a 4.5-5 win player to an 8 win player starting next year that would make him more valuable than Bryant. Who wants to put money on that happening though?
  16. Come on, we're not talking about Matt Craig ripping up AA as a 25 year old, Vogelbach was a high bonus 2nd rounder and has a .311/.424/.543 line with great peripherals in AAA. He has very real limitations that prevent him from being mega valuable, but we're also talking about a list that made room for Clifton and Underwood so it's not exactly a huge leap of faith to include him.
  17. Underwood's going to show up in Top 10's until he's 27 and still can't beat AAA, he's the pitching Hak-Ju Lee.
  18. Casey Bloomquist continues to be interesting, 3.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 5/0 K/BB in relief of Steele. Now at 37.2 IP, 37 H, 31/4 K/BB, 3 HR since being stretched out a bit.
  19. I will trade ace upside pitchers struggling to get hitters out in Low A for good but less than ace upside major league pitchers 10 days a week. If Cease weren't hurt and pitching even better than he is now, I would trade him in a millisecond for Pomeranz or Teheran and laugh my way to victory. Cease and is several tiers below Espinoza. Of course no one would care about losing Cease for good pitcher. Okay, make it literally Espinoza then. Espinoza is getting licked by the Sally league, outside of HR prevention there's nothing he's doing overly well unless you extremely discount his performance for age. He's throwing less than 4.5 innings per start so if he's tiring out it's the 2nd time through the order. He's also not improving mid-year, since June he has an ERA of about 6 and hitters have an .850 OPS on him in the last month. He already has people making Carl Edwards comments about his potential durability and future as a starter. He is so far from being a valuable MLB starter right now that considering him far above the value of an actual above average major league SP is venturing into the absurd.

  21. Is Pitcher Is in Low A Is not pitching overly well in Low A Is Pitcher Gonna look forward to the prospect clutching about that one, if that is in fact the lead piece.
  22. If someone is putting Clifton on an untouchables list, you should not listen to that person.
  23. If Kipnis is underwhelming, what are you hoping for, Cano? Kipnis had a down year in 2014(injuries were a big factor IIRC) and between that he's put up 3.4, 4.5 and 5.2 fWAR seasons, and is well on his way to another of that caliber. He's a positive defender at 2B but that's not what gives him the bulk of his value. Kipnis would be an awesome outcome for Happ, top end of expectations.
  24. 150 million percent chance it was Murphy
