  1. The difference between 15 and 150 on prospect lists is a rounding error, they’re all going to fail, it’s okay.
  2. What is the benefit of taking one of those guys later instead of with this pick? Lower risk. The later you take the risky sign, the less of the draft pool you’re betting on it.
  3. Lemahieu College bat who squares everything up and settles as an above average defensive 2B A guy that's like a 1.5fWAR player outside of Coors? Listen, I invented hating DJ Lemahieu, I don’t really want to get into the hangover effect because we’re making crude comparisons and not pinpointing exact outcome. I don’t think Hoerner is going to win a batting title even if he gets traded to Colorado and I’m clearly talking about the profile independent of park/league factors that might influence it.
  4. Lemahieu College bat who squares everything up and settles as an above average defensive 2B
  5. Love this pick. What’s his name? What position does he play?
  6. The new market efficiency is toolsy outfielders who sign for above slot.
  7. You should watch video of his curveball. It's crazy impressive. Best curveball and breaking ball in the draft by far. I'm sure I can find a gif somewhere... [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. You mean it was bad that Ted Beneke ran our backline ragged?
  9. throw another obvious balk onto the pile of LHP pickoffs
  10. The rotation is gonna have to recalibrate their next starts when they have to face actual major league hitters again
  11. fWAR is based on just FIP, not xFIP. I expect most of the rotation and Rizzo to not be in such a state by year's end, and although it's fun to imagine a team with 9 (!) position players north of 3 fWAR, odds are not great that all of those folks continue their pace the full season.
  12. By the time Baez hit the HR he was probably hot enough that there’s not much difference in sitting him down. Let him slam the door and you still have everyone else for tomorrow.
  13. The game finally went long enough that Morrow has technically had a rest day
  14. They probably could have gotten away with another inning but he still isn’t completely stretched out and he has another start in 5 days. He was only pulled because his spot led off the 7th, I’m pretty sure. He was at 75 pitches, he could’ve gone another or at least started it.
  15. For whatever it’s worth, it would’ve had to have been Maples or Zastryzny unless you really wanted to push the phantom DL stuff with Rosario.
  16. Thank goodness this Mets lineup is subpar by AAA standards
  17. I’m tired, pretend I told you a very convincing lie that you fell for
  18. considering he strikes out only 16% of the time i'm pretty sure that's not true Looking it up, it does look like 100% of his strikeouts come with 2 strikes
  19. Is Smoltz really trying to put that on the third baseman? Yeesh
  20. I don’t care if you put him in uniform and he gets a hit, you can’t convince me Guillorme doesn’t work at a convenience store
