  1. Wow that play at first between LaPorta and Crisp was awesome. I sure and heck wouldn't want to be bodyslammed by LaPorta.
  2. In two of my fantasy drafts, I used my last few picks picking up rookie or inexperienced players hoping that they would turn it on this season. On one team I've got Ryan Shealy, Troy Tulowitski (Stephen Drew is starting at SS), and Matt Murton sitting on my bench. I've also got Delmon Young and Iwamura in my starting lineup. Shealy and Murton have really disappointed so far, so what would you do with them? It is early, so I might keep them to see if they can turn it around but at this point I'm about to clear my bench and start playing the hot hand game. I'm already doing that with my pitchers, and it worked out good with Wakefield giving me a good outing the day I picked him up.
  3. I don't have access to any premium websites or anything, I was going strictly off of Brewerfan.net's ranking and write-up of him where they said he's the best SS prospect since BJ Upton, he has perennial GG ability, an advanced knowledge of the strike zone, and always makes solid contact. I didn't say that I absolutely wanted him, I simply stated that I wouldn't mind having him based off of that write-up.
  4. No fair, you read the post  And for those who don't know what this is about and are seriously over-reacting, you might want to check out this post and the one below it.
  5. MiLB.com has their BAAs listed. The problem with your formula is that it doesn't take into account CSs and GIDPs which are outs without ABs. Ok, I got Gutierrez's info off of The Baseball Cube, and they didn't have his BAA listed. I didn't know the formula to find it, but I got that formula off of wikipedia. Do you know a good site for finding stat formulas?
  6. Hey CR, which site/formula do you use for finding BAA? I used (base hits by opponents) / [(innings pitched x 3) + (base hits by opponents)] to find Gutierrez's BAA and wanted to check it with Walrond against what you had listed. When I used that formula I came out with a .251 BAA in the minors and a .253 BAA if you include his major league stats.
  7. Another boring day for starting pitchers. Gutierrez looks like a pretty good prospect for the Astros, he is only 24 and last year he went 8-4 with a 3.02 ERA in 103.2 IP. He also sported a 106/34 K/BB ratio and a .232 BAA.
  8. It's not like he's be a huge reach, Brewerfan.net has him ranked as the 9th overall prospect for the draft.
  9. Inconsistent mechanics that could possibly lead to serious injury, but with excellent pitches...I've heard that song before and didn't like it too much the first 1000 times.
  10. 6 1/3 IP, 3ER, 7 hits, 4/2 K/BB, 93 pitches 65 strikes/ 28 balls
  11. I like them, they're just the Camo uniforms they wear quite often to honor the Marines. It was funny watching BBTN though, Kurkjan said "where is David Wells I can't see him, it must be that camouflage he's wearing". The entire time I was thinking "how in the hell could you miss him?"
  12. I wouldn't mind taking Justin Jackson. SS is probably one of the weaker positions in our system and he is the best one in maybe a few years. He'll probably be with Boras but that shouldn't scare us off.
  13. But looking at the schedule, his next start would fall on an off day so they'll either push him up a day or back a day. Hopefully he pitches on the 13th and the Cubs miss him.
  14. The Astros announcers said during the game that his next start would be against the Cubs in Wrigley.
  15. Sammy grounded back to the pitcher in the 7th.
  16. Another obligatory post-padding smiley I see.
  17. There is only 1 recent news article about him, and it says that he hit a homer in the first inning on Thursday. It also mentioned that he'll be playing in the All-American game this summer.
  18. The MaxPreps link that was posted earlier hasn't been updated in awhile.
  19. They'd already shown it in an update. They showed it again on Touch 'Em All. I caught it on Touch 'em All, and oh boy I didn't know how much I missed that hop until I saw it.
  20. BBTN sucks. They showed Sammy's single and then said oh btw, Sammy also homered in this game #-o
  21. Former Cubbie Brendan Harris had a 3R HR tonight for the DRays.
  22. FSN Final Score will be doing highlights of the game next, not sure if it'll be on there this soon or not though. Or not, they did video highlights of the Yankees game and did a box score glance for the rest
  23. FSN Final Score will be doing highlights of the game next, not sure if it'll be on there this soon or not though.
  24. Man, that was way out too!
  25. He's a slouch. His SLG goes up to 2.600 if he got a single instead of striking out.
