  1. What kind of return could we seriously expect for him though? He's young and very good, but he's also in a contract year so that will drop his value some because there is a large possibility that he would turn out to be a rental. Who and when was the last big pitcher trade that we could really compare this to? Randy Johnson to the Yankees was the last big one that I can really think of, and because of his age I don't think we could really compare his value to Z's. The A's really didn't get much in return for either Mulder or Hudson.
  2. Only 7 back, not too bad I guess. Could be better though.
  3. Matsuzaka is starting tonight for the Sox and has already given up 2 runs in the top of the 1st. He tried to come inside on ARod and ended up hitting him. Miguel Cabrera also had a huge home run earlier today for the Marlins that went into the upper deck down the left field line. I believe they said it was 476 feet on Baseball Tonight.
  4. Atleast Tennessee was able to hold on and win 3-0. Holliman went 8IP, 8H, 6/0 K/BB, the rest of his line is zeros.
  5. And that particular piece was written back in late January. Actually, they have an updated Top 30 prospects list that has it as Price, Wieters and Vitters as the top 3 with Brackman falling to 6th due to "inconsistency". I'd like to see an updated first round projection soon - it looks like Callis made such an initial list on May 19 with a couple of updated projections right up to draft day. Of course, even if Price does go #1 it will still be interesting to see what falls to the Cubs and what route they will take. Even in the 2001 draft with Mauer pre-slected we didn't know if it would be Prior or Teixeira until the pick was in. I am confused. He's a sooner...so is he.
  6. I'm sure Cleveland has wireless hotspots, you're just being lazy  It does, but I also have a huge paper due tomorrow. :P Just another reason you need to go there then. I'm sure a grad student can multi-task.
  7. Way to tease us....that seems like a fitting ending.
  8. Now, I remember that one time in the middle of last season that Jones hit a lefty hard. Straight into the ground at the 2b though, right?
  9. Bold prediction: Lee reaches on a double, and ARam hits another homer. We then get 2 straight outs and lose 12-11.
  10. Atleast we'll have Floyd, Lee, Ramirez, and Barrett coming up.
  11. This has gone from a huge momentum swing for the Cubs to a huge heartbreaker. This one really hurts.
  12. All the way out onto the street, I just turned the game off.
  13. Nice try ARam. That would have been a sweet play.
  14. He thought it was going foul and didn't go all out. Yep, he stood at home kind of leaning like he thought it was way foul. Pujols thought it was too.
  15. Theriot FTW? How sweet would a comeback win and a big series win be here.
  16. Soriano still looked hobbled when he was running to 2nd.
