  1. At first it just looked like a real nasty bruise on tv. When they zoomed in you could see the huge bruise it left on him. After the trainer let him walk off the field under his own power, I figured he'd be ok; maybe only miss a start.
  2. It'll be a good game, hopefully Moore and Montanez get a decent amount of time. You should make a game thread for it, Jon.
  3. Abreu is already 31, if Z is getting shipped to them then they better add Cole Hamels, Jake Blalock, and another prospect.
  4. Barfield is a good player, but my question is with Loretta out why isn't he playing in SD? Barfield and Fontenot are fairly close in my opinion, but Barfield has the edge because he is 2 1/2 years younger while putting up similar numbers. Fontenot is a LH hitter though and has an OBP about 50 points higher too. Both seem to have decent speed, Barfield has a good amount of SBs but Fontenot has quite a few 3Bs. Defensively neither are spectacular (Fontenot with 7 errors, Barfield with 8 ). Nady thrown in is nice, good power, good eye. He can hold down RF until Harvey gets there.
  5. It seems like a dead trade right now. The guy that runs the other teams is really inactive and probably hasn't even looked at the trade. My pitching is still horrible though. With Mulder, Sabathia, Morris, Byrd, Eaton, Hudson, Daniel Cabrera, Ayala, Looper, and Duchscherer on my staff my combined number for pitching is still god-awful: 16 saves, 300Ks, 4.51 era, and a whip of 1.44.
  6. I don't know why but the Jamaican boblsed thing just popped into my head except with Murton inserted: Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, its Murton time!! (don't ask how it popped into my head all of the sudden because I still don't know)
  7. AGonz with a sac fly, time to get Wuertz up maybe?
  8. Another hit for Murton! Ehh fly ball, nevermind. Gameday said run-scoring hit in play, figured it got down still his first RBI though.
  9. Now that a RHP is in the game, will Greenburg come in? I'm watching on gameday and they have to pitching change but haven't shown any pitches from him yet.
  10. Murton with a 4-pitch walk now...what is he doing?
  11. Dusty was hoping that getting to be with family would help Corey. Iowa isn't playing for the next few days so he's been sent to Mesa instead, why not send him to Peoria with his brother for a few days? Hill is going there to start, if the Pattersons could play together for a few days it could help.
  12. Why is Rich Hill pitching in Peoria?
  13. I think that this move might help Murton and Greenburg more than it will hurt them. The part about irregular play will but I think facing ML pitching for just a short span can help. Both of them are smart guys, they can take what they see in the big leagues and use it to better prepare them when they go back down again and then can adjust to the major league game better when they come up for good.
  14. Link Already discussed a few days ago.
  15. Maybe trade C-Patt for Bill Bray (13th overall selection in last year's draft). Barely turned 22 last month; here are his stats. They seem to be trying to rush him this year, but he still looks to have good control and excellent k/bb ratio.
  16. 2-7 with 1 rbi and 3Ks since his call up. First night he wasn't good with an 0-3 night and 2 Ks. Tonight he went 2-4 with an rbi and one K.
  17. I think those are 2 different Alfredo Francisco's. I did a search on MiLB for Francisco and came back with 2 in the Cubs' system. The 3b's DoB is 8/27/1984 and the P's DoB is 2/02/1982.
  18. Ya, just when it seems like they have no interest in calling him up...they do. Less than 2 hours after a posted this too.
  19. The only reason that Carlos Lee has more rbi than DLee right now is because he has people that get on infront of him. There seems to be a split decision on if we should go with a power hitting LF or a leadoff CF. Gathright hasn't had much experience in the bigs and is currently playing in AAA but I think he's worth a shot. The DRays don't seem interested in playing him so we might get him fairly cheap. He's been getting on base at nearly a .400 clip (.388 to be exact) this year in Durham. When he gets on base he's also a difference maker (31-39 in SBA this year). I know there will be concerns about experience for the race but I don't see how he won't be an upgrade over CPatt and could become a poor man's Juan Pierre.
  20. You could have just saved time if you had any confidence in my posting ability. :P I figured you had gone to bed already..I didn't post the entire thing though, I was saving that for you to do.
  21. I know, when I started they weren't up and by the time I was done they were. But mine were up before all of yours were up :P
  22. No box scores up yet? I'll post links but don't feel like typing them out: Iowa loses 6-5 to Oklahoma D-Jaxx lose 5-2 to Huntsville Daytona loses game 1 of DH 1-0 I can't find the box score for game 2. Peoria loses 8-0 against Burlington Boise wins 5-2 over Tri-City ASL Cubs win 6-0 over ASL Padres Downs and Williamson with strong performances today. Piggy had a good appearence out of the pen in Iowa. Sing gets another HR in West Tenn. Mathes had a CG in Daytona but the game only went 7 because it was a DH game. He only allowed 1 run (unearned). Fuld had the only multi-hit game in Peoria. Culpepper and Taylor both with 4-hit games in Boise. Downs went 5 innings with a 7/2 ratio. Defendis and Rivera with multi-hit games in Mesa.
  23. How can I join a keeper league for fantasy sports? I just signed up my first fantasy football team of the year and looked around but did't see anything about a keeper league, is there something I'm missing.
  24. My offense is at or near the top of the league in every category except SB. My pitching is horrible on the other hand, with me dead last in saves, era, and whip. To help my pitching I've proposed this trade to another team: I trade: Jason Bay, Marcus Giles, and Mark Mulder I get: Alfonso Soriano and Francisco Rodriguez. It seems like a good trade to me, the other team is 2nd in the league but needs runs and average. For me, the loss of Bay doesn't hurt because I've got Shannon Stewart on the bench who has similar stats. I lose some runs scored from Giles but Soriano will give me more power and speed. Mulder doesn't hurt because I get rid of his high era and whip, replacing it with K-Rod's low numbers. I've also still got Sabathia, Morris, Hudson, and Peavy for SPs. Any opinions on the trade?
