  1. I really don't want to have to go back and eliminate starts from people who end up pitching too many. For last week, I'm just going to eliminate MM's last two starts. But from now on, however many starts you go over for the week, I'm going to eliminate that number of your best starts for the week. I'll start with your best performance and work my way down from there until you have 10 starts. So watch yourself and watch your opponent. Mooch -- keep watching everyone. ;)

Week 1 isn't quite in the books yet, but week 2 is just a day away. Funny how that happens... Period 2: 4/9/07 - 4/15/07 NC Cubbies at Galesburg Hand Sanitizers Urinal Cakes at Raw Dawgs Harrys Budcrew at Voo Doo Bayou Bashers Draconian Empire at Buddiga Severe Tooterstorms at Alamo Stealth The Eyes of Texas at Lynx Fuzzy Logistics at Northside Baseball Dishman's Dishmans at Quakers This is the week where I face all the pitchers I traded for Ensberg last year. :?
  6. I'll turn this into a sticky thread to document any 2008 draft picks that change hands.
  7. Got a home run today. WTG Sammy!
  8. I can't remember the last time someone had two triples in one game. For those who don't know, he's fast. :D
  9. If a player has changed positions and it isn't reflected in sportsline, let me know and I'll make the change for you.

    Week 1

Shane and I match up a couple of powerhouse offenses and suspect pitching. On Shane's side, the offensive core is incredible with Howard, Utley, Lee & Bonds. Young is tough. Hunter, Mora and Griffey aren't what they used to be but are still productive. My offense is also strong at the top with a core of Pujols, Reyes, Abreu, Holliday and Martinez. There's a bunch of young players that will be the difference between a good offense and a great one. Weeks, Gordon, Delmon and Conor are all guys that could be near the top at their positions, but will it happen this year? Shane's staff has a couple big question marks, though I love the flier on Greinke after the spring he's had. Dice-K, Schmidt and Bedard give him three very solid pitchers. The relief core...Mac, Proctor and Sanchez won't get many saves, but Sanchez could work some big innings in the pen and throw up some pretty impressive numbers there. My staff will be much improved in a few weeks when Unit and Little Weaver return. In the meantime, Oswalt & Garland anchor the staff. Verlander looked very shaky early in spring, but improved as it went along. Will the innings catch up with him, though? Robertson is a nice fill-in guy, but nothing more than that. Kip Wells could do anything and is a very big question mark. The relief core looks pretty strong, though, with Mariano, Hoffman & Valverde. It's going to be a good matchup between two of the stronger offensive teams. It may come down to some of the question marks on the staff and how they do. The starts look to be even at 6-6, though that could be impacted by weather or changes in rotation. Let's play some baseball!

    Contraction

Since there are two teams without managers (Warpticon and The Attacking Aardsmas) and a bunch of people with holes to fill that missed the draft, I'm going to contract those two teams and put those players back into the player pool. Waivers will run on Wednesday night / Thursday morning, so be sure to put in your claims for players you want before that time. The current waiver order: 1. Hosak 2. Slainte 3. Minnesota Masterbatters 4. Banedon 5. Incarcerated Scarfaces 6. New Jersey Nine 7. Booser Pop 8. White Soxoholics 9. Buckner hits a Double 10. Vinestal 11. SoCal Cubs 12. Roady You can put in an unlimited number of claims, but only get one pick per round. If someone more familiar with Sportsline waivers could add to this and explain something for me, I'd appreciate it. There are several really good players that are going into the pool. I'm pretty sure that both Berkman and ARod will be long gone before I make my first pick in the waivers process. If I have them listed as my first two picks, does that mean that I don't get a pick in the first two rounds...or does that mean that my first round pick will just be the next player on my list? I would hope it is the latter process, but I don't know for certain and don't see anything there that would explain it.
  15. Time to kick some booty. That is all.
  16. I'm trying to fix the remaining difficulties from the hacking session. Some access may get limited during this time and I apologize for that. I'll try to keep this as quick as I can. Thanks!
  17. I've checked all rosters for legality and the following are illegal at this point: Banedon Jazz (new owner) The Attacking Aardsmas (new owner) Warpticon Banedon and Warp - I'm going to dump players from your rosters at midnight if you don't take care of it first. If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet I used for this, just let me know.

    New Owners

Welcome! please post here to let me know you see this. Also, I'll help you get your keepers picked out so to meet the rules and expedite the process. We've gotta get that done today so that people have at least a little time to get their draft boards set.
  19. If anyone is interested, please let me know right away -- the draft is Sunday evening.
  20. NSBB will be down for an hour from 4am to 5am on Saturday for a RAM upgrade that should help with slowdown and service interruptions. As we are heading into the season, I am hoping that this upgrade will ensure as much uptime as possible! Thanks, Tim
  21. The Chicago Cubs today announced its first round of roster cuts, reducing its spring roster from 58 players to 44 players. Infielder Scott Moore and left-handed pitcher Clay Rapada have been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. In addition, infielder Brian Dopirak has been optioned to Double-A Tennessee and right-handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija has been optioned to Single-A Daytona. Ten non-roster invitees have been returned to minor league camp, including right-handed pitchers Jason Anderson, Sean Gallagher, Adam Harben, Ben Howard, John Webb and Randy Wells. Infielders Mike Kinkade and Eric Patterson, as well as outfielders Tyler Colvin and Chris Walker, have also been returned to minor league camp. Chicago’s spring roster of 44 players consists of 22 pitchers (three non-roster invitees), five catchers (two non-roster invitees), 10 infielders (three non-roster invitees) and seven outfielders.
  22. First off, sorry! I ended up travelling around 12,000 miles the past 30 days and have been unable to perform my duties in a timely fashion here. I'm working on getting the missing rosters restored with cbs. Also, we'll need a couple new managers, so please let me know if you have any ideas. Also, I may need to sign up someone to help me with the commish duties for the league as I'm going to be a hell of a lot busier this year than I expected to be. But it's actually a good thing. For a while. Until I go insane, at least. :D

    Pay up!

If your name is not bolded and you've paid, please let me know that I forgot to change your name (I'm pretty sure I've forgotten to change at least one person that paid when I was on the road). If you haven't paid...you're in danger of losing your team. Time to pay up or at least let me know you will be paying and when. Thanks!
