  1. And it was a good job by Hammel to work his way out of the jam, including having to get four outs that inning after the leadoff double.
  2. Not mobile friendly on iPhone. Cuts off half the info and rotating phone/resizing doesn't fix it I don't think any of the recent enhancements work on mobile. I have no idea how to create a mobile-friendly drag and drop prospect ranking page. As for the schedule page...I'll try to figure something out.
  3. I wonder what the opposing HR/FB ratio is over the past couple weeks. It has to be astronomical.
  4. These four batters haven't really swayed my opinion.
  5. Woo! The broadcast is back on the air
  6. Lost in Carp going on the DL is also that Moss went on the DL, too.

  8. Yeah, I bumped him up to my #2 prospect behind Willson.
  9. That should be on the front page now. It's only showing three days because of the break. Here's an example of the format: Braves @ Cubs 07/07/2016 07:05 CT Wrigley Field - Chicago, IL Home - Hammel 7-5 3.45 era Away - Harrell 1-0 1.5 era TV: ABC 7 Radio: 670 The Score Cubs @ Pirates 07/08/2016 06:05 CT PNC Park - Pittsburgh, PA Home - Liriano 5-8 5.34 era Away - Arrieta 12-3 2.33 era TV: CSN, MLBN (out-of-market only) Radio: 670 The Score Cubs @ Pirates 07/09/2016 06:15 CT PNC Park - Pittsburgh, PA Home - Kuhl 1-0 4.09 era Away - Lester 9-4 2.67 era TV: FOX Radio: 670 The Score
  10. I'm not sure there's much of a market for butters out there. He's worth more to us than he would be to anybody trading for him. We can always try to get them to take Derwood instead.
  11. Your last sentence confuses me. Have you seen his walk rate this year? How many do you think he should be taking? That surprises me. I must miss his walks, he seems to walk at about the same rate as Baez, I hadn't looked at the numbers though so I believe you. Iv'e watched most games this year... I don't know how Iv'e missed it. How's his strikeout rate? He started the year with many fewer strikeouts. When he hit his extended slump throughout May, he was striking out a LOT. He's been much improved in that area, too, over the past few weeks. For the year he's at 25%, which is the top end of where he can be to maintain decent production. Hopefully his adjustments persist and he ends the year closer to 20%.
  12. As long as I've got some momentum on adding to the site, I'd like to get some feedback on what I should work on next. Mocking failed past efforts is perfectly welcome here, but please couple that with some actual feedback on how to make the site better. Some ideas: Enhance the Prospect Ranking - Add charting, more security, etc. Recruiting writers - this is a hell of a lot harder than it seems! NSB Podcast - this was done really well by the B^2 guys, and all other efforts were horrible. Additional Message board features - I'm open to suggestions. Look here for possiblities. Standings/Results - Plenty of places have standings pages. How can this be unique and valuable? Schedule - same question. Prospects - we actually get more information here on cubs prospects than I've seen anywhere else. But you have to read every thread to get to it. There must be a way to condense that down and put it on individual pages for each prospect. Stats/Stats primer - I don't know that I can do anything better than what is out there already News Feeds - There's a variety of ways to do this, but I could put together a news aggregator for the front page "This day in Cubs History" - it would be a cool feature, but I have no idea how to feed it information Any thoughts on how to prioritize these things? Any other ideas?
  13. Does anyone see this as an interesting enough tool for me to put in the time to do the same thing on the pitching side? I notice fewer than 10 people have actually checked the page I created for looking at this. Here's that link again: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/tools/run-distribution
  14. we've gotten enough looks at him now and know probably the most about his true talent that i'm not particularly concerned about something like this; the question was brought up a little while back but is instructive, how many players on that list would you trade Contreras for? add 1 to that & that's his ranking So...#2 behind Moncada?
  15. I was hopeful. There were these long periods of time in the minors he'd go hitless and look lost. He's always seemed kinda streaky to me. I remember going back and forth with Rasin about his hitting. His glove has always been solid. He's certainly showed more power than I thought he would this year. I wish he'd take more walks but maybe he's never going to be an obp (although it's higher than I thought it was) guy. Your last sentence confuses me. Have you seen his walk rate this year? How many do you think he should be taking?
  16. I haven't read the article yet. I assume they ruled out anyone playing in the bigs as opposed to rookie qualification?
  17. Tim

    Justin Grimm

Ha - Grimm liked the tweet. I wonder if he read the article and brings back the slider.
  18. We signed a point guard whose only real positive attribute is running transition offense and surrounded him with old, slow guys. isn't he one of the old slow guys? who else besides wade? Who isn't other than Jimmy?
  19. Well, my bad if he actually meant it.
  20. Main issue here is the coach is a jackass I wish anybody else was coaching. No, the main issue is the fact that we have absolutely no long range shooting, and two big lumbering big men down low. As someone mentioned earlier, our roster is now pretty much the opposite of what the rest of the NBA is doing. That could be beneficial at times, I'm not sure. It's definitely gonna be interesting to watch these guys play together. We signed a point guard whose only real positive attribute is running transition offense and surrounded him with old, slow guys.
  21. How old were you when you swore your oath against having fun? I'm reading that like he's being serious and not sarcastic. Given his relentless negativity, I stand by my interpretation.
  22. Seems All-Star worthy to me How old were you when you swore your oath against having fun?
  23. I wanted him for CF this offseason before we got Fowler back.
