We most likely trade out of it, or take Vernon Davis if he somehow by some miracle drops to us. I don't think Davis will fall out of the top 10, let alone down to 26. Marcedes Lewis is an incredible athletic specimen. I still say Jackson, Moss, Holmes, and Lewis are the 4 best bets at this point. I'd prefer a WR at this point.

It's possible. The Bears are in a position to take the best player available, even if it's a WR, CB, LB, or whatever. The salary they'll have to pay won't be a cap-killer and they could benefit greatly from depth at certain positions. I personally would love to take a WR in the first, then a TE/CB in the second. I figure Jackson, Moss, or Holmes should be there at 26, and if not, I still like the 6'8" Marcedes Lewis for TE.

I'm not a Neifi fan, but a much better lineup would have Neifi at 2B and Hairston in RF and Jones on the bench for PH duty late. Mulder vs. Jones is an absolutely hideous matchup that puts an offensive black hole at RF. The thing is though, JJ has seemed to be getting his swing going. I know he sucks vs. lefties, but maybe he's turning it around.

I'm just as excited to watch this team play. It'll be interesting to see how they play. Can this team persevere? Perseverence is a huge part of this sport. Will they hang their heads and die or will they man up and win this series, hopefully bringing SOME optimism back to NSBB?

So is every post and every game thread going to be 'woe is us' from here on out? He's out for the first half. I'm pretty sure the Astros sucked the past two years in the first half, and ended up doing pretty well. Anything can happen. I'm bummed about it too, but it's not gonna stop be from believing that this team can hang around until Lee, Wood, and Prior return, and that we can still make a playoff push.
