  1. Incredible ball movement/saddest effort to foul ever.
  2. DePaul up now 58-53 with 1:17 left. This is awesome
  3. 53-53 now, 2:38 left.
  4. I'd really like to have Cirillo to come off the bench. How many positions can he play?
  5. If we traded for him, we would probably extend him. I would hope so.
  6. Lugo is the only decent SS available, and look at the difference in Lugo and Izturis. If it's Lugo for CF, then I don't want him, but if we can bump Izturis out and get Lugo at short, I'm allllll for it.
  7. Jennings throws a lot of innings, and has a very impressive GB% since 2002 at 46.4%. I really like him.
  8. Jennings-Schmidt would be fantastic. Z Schmidt Jennings Hill Miller-Prior Put Lugo at SS and bring Pie up, let him play and develop. Sign Floyd and let him give Murton or Pie a day off here and there, with Soriano moving to CF when Pie is on the bench. Soriano Lugo Lee Ramirez Barrett Murton DeRosa Pie Of course, if Lugo is for CF, then I greatly dislike this.
  9. I'm fine with Lilly being the 2nd banana to whomever else they sign this year. I just think it's inaccurate to paint him as a reliable #3. He's never even thrown 200 innings in his career. I do like that his name is Theodore Roosevelt though. Oh, I see what you're saying now. I thought you were saying it's a bad sign for a #3 guy, while I don't consider him a 3rd starter. But I definitely agree, he's not a reliable 3 starter, a solid #4 guy IMO though.
  10. Of course you'd like to look at it like that, because it's the only way to make your case. But in reality he's bee inconsistent. He's got a fairly high walk rate, his ERA+ has been up and down and he's highly susceptible to the HR. I liked him as a guy who you'd slot at the end of your rotation and hope for 180 mediocre innings. But he's nowhere near a #3 pitcher, and clearly not consistent. He could very well be the #4 or #5 guy in our rotation though if we get Schmidt or Westbrook. If we get Schmidt I have Z/Schmidt/Hill/Lilly/Miller-Prior, and if we get Westbrook I have Z/Hill/Westbrook/Lilly/Miller-Prior. Miller and/or Prior could come back healthy and be strong, so Lilly could even get bumped down to #5. I think penciling Lilly into the 3 slot is very premature.
  11. Prospect would have to be Veal or Pie I assume. Which I'm okay with.
  12. -Podsednik was an All-Star because of a ridiculous fan vote, not because he desrved to be there. -The White Sox won the World Series because every pitcher on that staff had a career year at the same time, not because of Scott Podsednik's presence on the team -1 GW homer in the playoffs does not a great player make. By God, don't tell that to Bill Mazeroski, or the writers who voted him into the hall of fame !! Bill Mazeroski and Ozzie Smith are interchangeable here.
  13. Quick, flash need the Bruce Signal! We need some sort of confirmation! I hope it's true, I really like Lilly, and besides Schmidt, I think he's the best option out there.
  14. I'm sorry, Zelda is one of the greatest franchises of all time. Ocarina of Time is easily my favorite game of all-time. How many versions of GTA, Sonic, Halo, DOA, etc. do we need? You can say that about any of the three companies.
  15. Eek. Over/under on what his ERA will be at the end of the season = 6.00
  16. He was going up against some pretty good lineups out east. Westrbook did to in the central, but pitching in the AL east will lead to a lot of homers given up. Factor in the fact he'd be coming into the NL with a lot less homers, and without a DH as well.
  17. I like Lilly, I think he could be a solid pitcher in the NL. He's been the one "second tier" guy I've wanted all along. I would love to land him and Schmidt, and could even be content with him and Westbrook added to this rotation.
  18. I think it'll be a great game. I haven't gotten to watch a full Illinois game yet though. Great win for Mizzou tonight. Came out strong and forced a lot of turnovers. This is a tough team. I still don't know how good they are, but they are going to be tough all season long. Hannah is a stud, Keon Lawrence is going to be a stud, and I've never seen such an amazing turnaround from one season to the next than I have with Matt Lawrence. The kid has a nasty shot. Combine that with Grimes who can finally make a layup and is having a solid year, and this team could make some noise come conference time.
  19. That's what the Cubs offered him. Even if he is a player who absolutely does not care about money, no one is going to turn that down.
  20. me neither. did you see when they did that to carlos lee in houston? he looked like he was about 400 pounds.
  21. If we can get him for $4-5 mil and Schmidt, that'd be fantastic.
