We traded a future HOF'er for him. Sad. I'm pretty happy with our rotation's performance outside of Zambrano. Maddux would have only taken up space and salary. Maddux for prospects on the other hand... I don't buy we gave up a HOF talk but Hendry got shafted. Not only did he give up Maddux but he acquired and overrated, worthless SS who also was expensive. Essentially, Hendry added salary by adding the worthless bum. Don't forget that we gave them some cash too. The deal should've been Maddux+Cash to the Dodgers for Izturis to the Cubs and unlimited alcohol to the fans.

Saying someone is on steroids just because he's having a big year is about as old as Julio Franco. as i said earlier in the thread, i dont usually accuse people of steroids, but this is just getting ridiculous. Was Brian Roberts on steroids when he brokeout a few years back too? How about when Clint Barmes started hot as hell a couple years ago? Players have good stretches to start the season sometimes, get over it. Remember Alex Gonzalez? Probably.

They don't have a choice. The Cubs next off day is 6/18 and their short. Eyre up in the 'pen means they are willing to sacrifice this game. I guess I just don't believe in losing on purpose against the first place team in your division.
