  1. Care to elaborate? Yes, people on this board need to take the blue tinted sunglasses off and realize this deal is a steal for us. We getting one of the best leadoff men in baseball, an all-star and another great club house guy for pretty much nothing. You guys are blowing your loads over the 2 pitching prospects that have showed us NOTHING. Leadoff isn't a position. All-Stars mean almost nothing. I don't care if someone is the worst clubhouse guy in the world as long as they could play ball. I'm not the biggest fan of this deal, but I wouldn't be bummed if it went down, as long as we made a move for another pitcher (Blanton or Burnett). Basically this isn't the trade I'm worried about (if it stands as Marshall-Gallagher-Cedeno), but what comes after this trade that concerns me. Really? I would. I really don't. At this point I don't care about anything but winning. Sad, maybe, but it's true.

  3. This was posted around 10 am ET. I dont know if it's been posted here yet: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/roch/blog/2008/01/latest_brian_roberts_rumor.html Haha. Read some of the comments posted: "Thanks for informing us it is inaccurate. The thought of giving up 103 runs and a .377 OBP with 50 SB's and our only All Star from last year and getting back a guy with a .203 average, a B prospect and a guy who never showed a winning record when pitching over 50 innings in minor league ball is too tough to take." "When the Cubs come asking for Roberts, it's (Rich) Hill and (Felix) Pie or say bye-bye."
  4. Mizzou might lose to UMKC tonight. If so, I demand they get rid of the basketball program and give the money to good teams (football, wrestling, baseball, volleyball)
  5. It was announced today that all 5 juniors who filed papers for the draft (Daniel, Coffman, Moore, Sulak, and Hood) are returning for their senior season. Still no word if Temple will get the medical redshirt from his freshman year that he is seeking, but I would be shocked if he did. Mizzou should have no problem winning 10+ games again next year. I think they'll realistically go 11-1. Their toughest games are vs. ILL (in STL), @ UT, @ Nebraska, and vs. Kansas (in KC). I think we'll beat Illinois, Nebraska, and Kansas for sure, and I think we could beat UT, but it'll be tough in Austin. Today was a good day for Mizzou football though. Finished #5 in Coaches and #4 in AP (our highest finish ever), the 5 aforementioned juniors announced they are coming back for next season, and Dan Hoch (4-star), the #20 ranked OL in the nation and the top-ranked player in Iowa decommitted from Nebraska and committed to Missouri, while WR Wes Kemp (3-star, the #40 ranked WR and #5 ranked player in Missouri decommitted from Wisconsin and committed to Mizzou, while former ND running back Munir Prince (as Andy said) is transferring here.
  6. What position will this person play? Leadoff...duh
  7. Boekman was so dumb; he escaped the pocket too early and then went to the right but all his recievers were on the left. Boeckman is a bad, bad quarterback. He can't throw, has no pocket awareness, and makes stupid mistakes. #1 pick for the Bears... Dont even joke about that.
  8. The whole bowl season was garbage. I can only think of one game off the top of my head (that I watched) that was good and that was the Texas Tech game.
  9. Richard Dickson? Dick Dickson?
  10. lol rubbing it in.
  11. Boeckman for Heisman
  12. Sure would be nice to see a competitive National Championship for once. That won't happen though as long as OSU keeps landing in the game.
  13. This deal has been "close" according to "sources" for awhile now. I'm at the point where I don't think the deal is going to happen unless I finally see a report from a major source.
  14. Not merchandise related, but Muskat provides us with this gem: I don't think new outfielder Kosuke Fukudome will be attending the Cubs convention. He is working out in Japan, and according to the Chunichi News, he has named his new son Hayato. "You know, Chicago is called the 'Windy City,'" Fukudome told Japanese media. "'Hayato' means windy, healthy, fast and first boy. That's why I named him." Fukudome is so awesome.
  15. Raise your hand if you don't give two flying turds about tonight's game and probably wont even watch. *raises hand*
  16. Plz don't beat us by 50 points in two weeks.
  17. roberts is not essential for a championship, duh. i am the resident ass know-it-all and you should take my opinions as facts. perfect response
  18. Not hit into a 6-4-3 double play in the most crucial spot of the playoffs. I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic, because DeRosa is hardly the only one to blame for that awful postseason appearance.
  19. I'm fine with giving up Marshall because he seems lost in the shuffle with this organization. I like him a lot but I'd rather trade him than Gallagher. Unfortunately we're going to give up both, which sucks.
  20. Sweet, hopefully my Fukudome jersey shirt from wrigleyvillesports ships soon then.
  21. Hopefully this is a move in preparation for another move. Neither of these guys excite me, and I liked Pagan more than Fuld, but it's not that big of a deal.
  22. Impressive win by ku, but how the hell did VT make it this far with those tow clowns at QB?
