  1. You give up the possibly good bat (but so far, pretty bad bat) for the almost sure thing OBP. Castillo has been very consistent. Plus you open up a spot in RF for Jake Fox, where you hopefully get that power back that you lose from Bradley's potential. If you wait till Aramis is back, I think this could be a nice money saving deal. Bradley's career OBP is .369 while Castillo's is .367. Over the past 3 years, Bradley's is .409 while Castillo's is .362. If Castillo is an almost sure thing OBP guy, so is Bradley.
  2. I read something somewhere that the Cardinals budget is pretty tight now after adding DeRo. I'd be surprised (though not shocked) if they got Holliday.
  3. Not a chance. Castillo is only good for OBP, which Bradley provides at a similar rate. At least Bradley has the potential to get some power back, while Castillo has no power at all.
  4. I was driving back to my parents in IL when that happened (I went to the game the next day - which of course they lost). I woke up my sleeping girlfriend who was in the passenger seat and almost drove off the [expletive] road. What an awesome moment.
  5. i was surprised when i saw him too. Totally pictured some scrawny white guy with a scruffy face every time i heard his name. It took me awhile to realize his name was Von Joshua. I kept thinking that was his last name and his real name was like Greg Von Joshua or something.

  7. Yeah but I'd rather his OPS be OBP-heavy than SLG-heavy. We need guys like him getting on base, not cranking HRs.
  8. I wonder what it must be like to have random no name scrub come to your team and play way over their head. Did Riot just hit his 7th HR or his 8th? I'd take 2008 1 HR Theriot over 2009 7+ HR Theriot
  9. DeRosa's now 0-5. I'm holding out hope he becomes our mole, i.e. Miles
  10. beaten by 7 minutes and a fancy picture. i should add that the trades being discussed in this thread are certainly tobias-esque. too slow my friend.
  11. lol its funny because you put things in there like golf clubs that werent actually traded i get it
  12. 2.5 mil for a guy who has sucked complete ass for half the year and has spent the other half on the DL. great signing.
  13. oh my god! we're having a fire...sale! http://12.media.tumblr.com/BydclihZXojkblk6FZQZziP5o1_500.jpg
  14. Whoever said little brother syndrome is exactly right. What a putz.
  15. If he was OPS'ing 1.000 he'd probably have more RBI than DeRosa.
