Seriously? What is it that leads you to believe he's ready for a slot in the rotation ? Is it the 5.57 walks per game ? or the 1.76 WHIP ?? The 8.57 ERA ?? Or the fact that when he didn't have command of his curve ball, he literally had no way to get anybody out ?? Hill is right where he belongs. When he's mastered his control and a new pitch or two.... he'll be back.

  10. That didn't take long for the Marlins to try. You really called that one. Considering the batter was Juan Pierre, that's hardly a psychic revelation, no?

  12. Yeah i mean Lawton he just has no eye at the plate whatsoever. This is a bogus criticism. Is he supposed to be perfect. Whatta joke. Well no, obviously even the best players make mistakes all the time. Obviously a good hitter will do the right thing only 30% of the time. Lawton still has a ways to go to become what you call a "good hitter", let alone being perfect. Two walks in a month ??? Come on !! 08/02 - 08/24 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Lawton 75 8 18 2 0 1 23 4 2 7 0.240 0.269 0.307 0.576
  13. Would you really rather build a team around which veteran is a worse option against righties? You may not have noticed, but Karros and Simon got the same invitation to leave that Choi got.
  14. A surprising lineup to be sure, but I'm not certain that it's fair to characterize a lineup for one game as making a statement. Now, if we should see this lineup for any extended period of time..... that would be making a statement.

RHP: .232/.349/.449/.798 Karros v. RHP: .246/.286/.397/.683 Do you really want to build a team with players who are "a better option against righites" ? Choi played himself out of the lineup. He's failed to become a starter on 3 different teams now in 3 years. Maybe he turns out to be the proverbial "late bloomer", and finally puts it all together, but I wouldn't give you odds on it.
  16. I surely did move. I'm back in the Chicago area and loving it! Welcome home, Tim !!

  18. We certainly did. The CUBS home opener on Fri 08 April vs. Milwaukee. It was Kerry Wood's first start of the year. 20. Yeah... when you put it that way, it doesn't sound half bad at all.
  21. Choi tanked before the injury. I think the vast majority of players in the game go through a stretch where they hit .200/minimal run production over 50 ab during the course of a 600 ab, 162 game season. Indeed. By they way... has Choi extracated himself from that tank yet ?? .809 OPS this year, still far better than Eric Karros against RH. wow. all-star material.

  23. Unfortunately, I have no control over the scheduling. I'm teaching at two separate schools now, so that means I have to have my free period in the middle of the day to travel between the schools. Well.... I didn't say it was YOUR poor planning !! Seriously, that sounds like a killer. How did that come to pass ?
  24. Sounds like poor planning to me.
