  1. I agree with you completely over the long term. But, it you'll remember, my original comment was for the short term. I wouldn't mind seeing Barrett stay in the cleanup spot a while longer. For the time being, he is more productive than Ramirez.
  2. BOTTOM OF THE THIRD INNING Cedeno grounded out to first, unassisted Zambrano struck out swinging Pierre singled to center field Perez lined out to first base 0 runs, 1 hits, 0 errors, 1 men left on base 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E Atlanta 1 0 0 1 0 0 CUBS 0 0 0 0 2 0
  3. You figure he can do that better from the 4th spot than the 6th, eh? More at bats. There only needs to be 3 additional baserunners to get him up there a 4th time. I just don't have a problem giving that one extra at bat per week to Barrett. 04/26 - 05/24 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Barrett 67 6 20 2 3 2 34 3 9 7 0.299 0.390 0.507 0.897 Ramirez 97 14 26 7 1 6 53 14 6 8 0.268 0.321 0.546 0.867

  6. I would be happy to leave Barrett there for a while. Percentage of baserunners driven in thru 24 May BDI LOB PCT Barrett 15 50 0.231 Ramirez 14 64 0.179 Team 121 551 0.180 Ramirez is hot now, he's overwhelmingly likely to exceed those numbers. Plus, Barrett is soon to be suspended. When he starts driving in baserunners, I'll be the first one on the bandwagon.
