  1. Fielder bails us out. Cool down Ryan, the ump sucks -- but there's still a game to play.
  2. Unbelievable, this inning should be over. Who is that ump? He sucks.
  3. I agree. Lou is really screwing the pooch early on. He's really mismanged the entire pitching staff. Well he better start getting it together because this losing crap is starting to piss me off. Yeah. All this losing that has lead us to being six games over .500. Damn all this losing. :D Damn right! 8-)
  4. Did we miss something with the Cardinals? I thought they were supposed to have a crappy lineup & pitching staff, and pretty much just be in a down year.
  5. I would think Brewers fans are saying the same thing about Dempster. They're too busy mozzerella sticking their way to an early grave. Strangely enough, outside of Milwaukee and Green Bay, I have found the people of the state of Wisconsin to be in exceptionally good shape in spite of all the beer drinking and cheese eating. They're just outside doing stuff a lot. This still surprises me even after going to college in Wisconsin for 4 years. I agree for the most part, but off the beaten path it's a very different story I went to UW Oshkosh, and before that a small liberal arts college outside of Sheboygan, and while for the most part, the college people were in pretty decent shape, your average townie looked like they could drop dead at any moment. Wisconsin ranks much better than Illinois for overall life expectancy. http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/content/sep2006/db20060913_099763.htm

  7. He's lucky he didn't spend time in the hospital with that Oline. Orton & Griese too.
  8. He looked real good there. He looked a lot like a young Marcus Allen. Bigger, but similar speed and running style. Robert Smith comparison still fits, but he looks a lot tougher than the thespian ever was. He looked like he has the ability to shed some tackles and power through a few people. But he didn't look very fast to me, and he didn't look to have much side-to-side ability. He looks like a decent straight-line runner from that vid, but certainly nothing spectacular. Admittedly, I don't know much about him yet. Definitely more of a straight line guy. But so was Marcus Allen. He has the vision to make his cuts behind the line, find the hole, and hit it hard. He's big enough that I don't mind him NOT juking the crap out of DBs when he gets beyond the 2nd level. Probably not a true HR hitter, as he can't turn nothing into something, but give him a hole, he'll find it and if he breaks free, he's fast enough that he won't be caught from behind. I was half-asleep watching the draft Saturday (night shifts), but I thought someone said he ran in the 4.4 range at the combine. If that's true, then he's got some speed once he gets going, but the "quickness" factor is not high. Since AP's value goes beyond just running back, and Wolfe is the change-of-pace guy, I agree with some others that bringing in Forte at least opens up a greater possibility that Benson will be cut.

  10. ...which is exactly why people shouldn't be creating threads entitled "Best Record in Baseball!!" Argh!! Right, whatever. As of this moment, the Cubs have the best record in baseball. Something worth noting. It is not intended to be a predictive commentary, jusy a notation. It was more or less just a joke. I do find it interesting that once again, right after someone posts a thread like this the club starts to falter. I don't put any stock into it, mind you.....but it just seems like it always happens that way. Probably because people tend to post this right on the heels of huge winning streak, when really the only way to go is down.
  11. And we got shut out today, to boot. What the hell? When do we play the pirates again, jeesh. Even Dusty's Reds. At least we didn't get swept, I guess? Work is hell right now, I don't need the Cubs to start dropping games to boot.
  12. Geez, I'm out in SF right now. Did we really drop 2/3 to the Nats?
  13. So what was the deal with ESPN lobbying to make that div2 RB Mr. Irrelevant?
  14. These nosebleed picks are the best time of the draft. ESPN keeps playing that Monday Night Football music, and there's like 30 ppl left in the building. Whoohoo! 7th rounders! Fun.
  15. Last pick: Marcus Monk WR Arkansas.
  16. The next Donald Driver, YES!!! j/k 8-)
  17. The TE pick was a bit baffling, but he was a great value at that point. I'm all for anyone who can catch the ball at this point. Pretty sure this draft spells the end of Manning Jr. and AA in a Bears uniform. That is a good thing. I think the Bears are going to look to pick up a OG after June cuts, assuming they don't think Beekman can handle it. It's interesting. I just didn't hear much of anything about Beekman all last year. I guess no news can be bad news. A makeover @ S is welcome, IMO. Angelo has a decent track record of picking up mid-to-late rounders who can play safety in this league.
  18. = "we're not all that sure about Rodgers, good game against Dallas or not."
  19. Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. These 7th round picks; for the most part we're talking about filler, nothing to get riled up about. Personally, I didn't mind our 1-2 picks. Not sure about Earl Bennett, because I didn't watch much Vandy football. I was suprised we went with the TE with Ainge still on the board. I thought he would be a good value pick there (I think it was late 5th round-?) Again, Angelo's drafts seem to baffle most people. He's had some success, but he definitely doesn't do what the "experts" expect. Not that he should, of course. I'm just saying, I still can't figure him out. Maybe that's a good thing. We got our LT so our dire need was addressed. Let's see what the kid can do, and hopefully Tait can make the much-needed move back to RT sooner rather than later. That right there would improve our complexion on O plenty.
  20. Angelo almost always reaches with that 2nd round pick. I should expect it by now, but it's always shocking. It's like......HUH?!?.....every year. Not saying this Forte kid will automatically be bad, mind you.
  21. This ballpark is ridiculous. They just built this turd?
  22. Dempster to the ump: "That might be one of the greatest catches..."
  23. OH MY GOD CATCH OF A FREAKING LIFETIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  24. Did they eliminate the rule completely in the NFL? I can't remember if they just tweaked it or what. I know for sure they got rid of the 5 yard face mask, though. That irks me a tad bit. It's over, gone. If you're out of bounds, you're out of bounds.
