  1. The only way arrieta gets a strike is if it’s in the middle of the zone. His movement has been good enough that they haven’t squared those pitches away. But sucks to pitch with a zone that’s 6 inches smaller than the other guy.
  2. Well wood has gotten that low pitch all night long. Arrieta hasn’t gotten it once.
  3. They move so much they cross home plate as a strike and hit the catchers mitt a foot outside the strike zone.
  4. I don’t feel good about continually walking this guy in front of puig.
  5. Can we please enjoy a lead for more than a half inning or so?
  6. Pimping the horsefeathers out of home runs down 3-0. I love it. horsefeathers it. Go down in flames.
  7. Ok. Why don’t more cubs swing at the damn first pitch. Basically all the players so far took strike one and then started swinging out of the strike zone.
  8. Ok. Early home run. This is going exactly as planned.
  9. I didn't know it was possible to have an opinion as wrong as this whole thing in bold. this staff hasn't developed a rookie of the year, MVP or Cy Young candidate in over 370 days Really? And joes in game management hasn’t won a World Series in the past 12 months. You can argue both ways. You can blame a managers decision making when the series is competitive. This series has not been. You could have the best manager in history and no they are not winning the series. You can say I’m wrong about he coaching part. Fine. Maybe I am. But my point is the players are not performing. If you want to blame the manager for the players not performing that’s one thing. But blaming the manager for poor in game decisions when they would still be down 3-0 at this point is another.
  10. Yeah. No amount of managing would've made a damn bit of difference. Joe didn't ask KB and Rizzo to go 1/50 with 40K's this series. He didn't ask the bullpen to walk scrubs, including a pitcher using little league distracting tactics. Let's give it a rest with second guesses. If you want to question Joe's style of getting players ready, fine. Maybe the lack of BP, lack of team meetings, poor coaching has something to do with it. But his in game decision making? That's low on the list of things I'm upset about.
  11. Thanks for the memories Jake. You were huge for the Cubs. Wish you the best. But on another team. No longer an elite pitcher, and not worth the money he's going to want. Don't even think about it Theo. Hope he gets another couple starts for the Cubs, although probably not going to happen.
  12. Frustrating. But this could happen to any team. I don’t think the team is overmatched in terms of talent with th dodgers. They are just getting outplayed. Improvement is going to have to come from within. Not with crazy moves that Theo is magically going to make with no real impact free agents and no real prospects in minors. Next years team will be more or less the same with some tweaks to the pen and changing out Jake for another pitcher who may or not be as good. Offense lost the series. What needs to happen is the guys in their early 20s have to improve like guys that age tend to do. Russell, Baez, happ, schwarber. Even Bryant hasn’t hit his peak producing age. This year I think the whole organization blew off any sort of preparation with the objective of recovering from a WS hangover.
  13. Good night!! That’s it for me! Looking forward to reading about the epic comeback in the morning.
  14. I will be here tomorrow watching the game utterly flustered posting hateful and ridiculous things. Hoping for a 3-0 comeback.
  15. Dave Roberts did that. He had his pitcher bat with the bases loaded in a tight game and dance around like a jackass to fake bunt. And it worked beautifully.
  16. Ha. Not only are they outplaying us. They are outlucking us.
  17. Hayward gets that. Joe can’t buy a break with a move.
  18. I think I enjoy pain because I will keep watching until they are out of it. But this is painful.
  19. Roberts is probably not even going to use Jansen. He is totally not respecting the cubs offense. For good reason actually.
  20. Happ has the potential to be really good. He has natural power and a good eye. I think he has a loop in his swing that causes him to swing and miss a lot though. It keeps the bat in the hitting zone for a short period of time so he has less margin for error with his timing. Could probably be fixed.
  21. I hate when they try to hit it hard, especially early in the AB. No. Swinging out of your shoes when the wind is blowing out and the bases are empty is not smart.
