  1. Yeah when you make it to the playoffs every year, [expletive] is going to happen.
  2. Because if there's one thing the Cardinals do, it's completely gag in the playoffs.
  3. Now that's a good one. I'd love to know the last time any Cub outperformed any peripheral stat to that degree for any significant length of time. Actually, it might have been Carlos Villanueva last year
  4. Carlos Villanueva really has a 1.17 ERA and a 3.86 FIP in 30 innings. And you just know it'll stay like that.
  5. People still think we're close to the Cardinals?
  6. Ha the Rockies are about to blow an 8-3 lead in the 9th
  7. This is one one of the dumbest narratives you guys have come up with this season, and that's saying something. i wouldn't go quite as far. i'm probably just still reeling from dusty/the 2003 nlcs, but i despise leaving pitchers in for one more inning with a big lead. i don't think it's why we lost this game, but i do think it would have been better managing for arrieta to throw one less (meaningless) inning in the last game and one more (meaningful) inning tonight. As excellent as the bullpen has been pitching lately he wasn't really downgrading all that much, if at all, by pulling Arrieta after 7 excellent innings. We're talking about maybe getting one more full inning out of him in a game where the offense failed spectacularly to push across more than 2 runs with 15 players managing to get on base, and they wouldn't have been any more likely to actually score if he had stayed in. It's the epitome of nitpicking. It's a total 20-20 hindsight. If he leaves Arrieta in there and Arrieta gives up the lead, everyone is complaining that we should have brought Strop in. Strop's been great this year but he's going to give up runs. Oh yeah, no doubt. It was a minor complaint. I think Maddon was fine tonight and definitely don't think he got schooled by Matheny.
  8. The Blackhawks won't get much of anything for Sharp either. Sharp has been just God awful since January 2014 and teams know this. He looked completely lost and old in the playoffs too.
  9. Only complaint I had was pulled Arrieta after 7. Of course this probably doesn't happen if he doesn't send Arrieta out there for the 9th in a blowout last start.
  10. Also the pipedream that was catching St. Louis has completely been thrown out the window as it was a few weeks ago.
  11. Chill out its 3 games with one against satans minions Yeah Donn Roach is pitching tomorrow What does that have to do with the Cubs "not being so good"? He's like their 10th starter on the organization depth chart just starting out of complete luck. And besides, Ryan O'Malley once happened After beating Grienke and Kershaw, they're probably going to get out of this homestand 3-4 or 2-5. That's...not good.
  12. Chill out its 3 games with one against satans minions Yeah Donn Roach is pitching tomorrow
  13. Heh fitting ending. We're back to not being so good.
  14. Hahahahahahahahaha this [expletive] team. Pixiedust to the extreme.
  15. http://www.thesportsbank.net/core/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Jay-Cutler.jpg
  16. You're basically paying for a half year rental and one that's been pretty crappy so far this season.
  17. To be fair, Gasol is a free agent after this season, Noah is fragile and declining. Gasol signed a 3 year deal. Next season is year 2. I believe its 2 years with a player option for a 3rd year Crap. Yeah this is why I always wanted to keep Boozer and let him expire last year as opposed to signing another old big and have him for 2 more years for just as much money
  18. John Lackey left his wife when she was undergoing chemo
  19. Living 15 minutes from Fayetteville, I got to see a ton of Bobby Portis and Arkansas this year. He's going to be a double-double machine in the NBA, only question I have with him is scoring inside the paint, he really struggled with it especially towards the end of the season and into the NCAA Tournament. Also there's this: [vine] [/vine]
  20. Can you imagine if Lester didn't have his buddy catching?
  21. That would involved Starlin hitting it over the SS for it to happen
  22. Looks safe, probably won't be overturned. Just end this one.
